Our client seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Manager Electrical Maintenance to join our dynamic team on a permanent basis. This is a critical role responsible for overseeing the comprehensive electrical maintenance operations within our power plant, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and reliability. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and supervision of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for all electrical systems, including GIS and auxiliary equipment, to maximize plant reliability and availability.
  • Direct troubleshooting, conduct in-depth fault analysis, perform root cause investigations, and implement effective corrective actions to resolve electrical system issues.
  • Champion and enforce strict adherence to electrical safety standards, including NFPA 70E, Permit to Work (PTW)/Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and all relevant HSE regulations.
  • Manage the electrical scope for plant shutdowns, overhauls, and modification projects, ensuring all activities are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive maintenance procedures, technical documentation, and testing plans, aligning with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and plant-specific standards.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for maintenance activities and spearhead reliability improvement initiatives by analyzing data and incorporating lessons learned.
  • Oversee maintenance budgets, manpower planning, critical spare parts inventory, and material forecasting to ensure seamless operational readiness.
  • Effectively supervise contractors and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth plant operations and successful project execution.
  • Lead emergency fault restoration efforts and system recovery processes during electrical disturbances and plant trips, minimizing downtime.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, support internal and external audits, and provide strong leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities for maintenance teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) or Associate Degree in Electrical Technology.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in electrical maintenance, with a strong focus on power plant operations.
  • Certifications: Certified Electrical Technician (CET) or Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, preventive and corrective maintenance methodologies, troubleshooting complex electrical issues, and proficiency in reading schematic diagrams.
  • Automation & Control: Experience with PLC programming and SCADA systems.
  • Power Systems: Solid understanding of motor control, power distribution, and electrical safety principles.
  • Leadership & Soft Skills: Proven team leadership abilities, strong problem-solving skills, effective project management capabilities, excellent communication skills, and sound decision-making aptitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specific experience in power generation, transmission & distribution systems, electrical protection schemes, relay coordination, and power system analysis within a power plant environment.
  • Hands-on experience with protection relays, substation automation, SCADA/RTU systems, and communication protocols (e.g., IEC 61850).
  • Sound knowledge of a wide range of electrical equipment including turbo generators, transformers, switchgear, motors, VFDs, UPS, battery systems, and plant auxiliaries.
  • Proficiency in advanced fault diagnosis, root cause analysis (RCA), short-circuit studies, and risk/hazard assessments.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and compliance requirements, including NFPA 70E, OSHA, PTW/LOTO, and ISO management systems.
  • Skilled in maintenance planning using CMMS (e.g., Maximo), technical documentation, reporting, and interpretation of complex electrical drawings/schematics.
  • Experience in a leadership or supervisory role (1-2 years preferred).
  • Fluency in English.
