Job Purpose

• Validate formulations of MPY–ICO products and support the optimization of existing products under the guidance of the Senior Development Manager to meet customer and business requirements.
• Support the investigation of customer complaints and production-related issues for MPY–ICO products by conducting laboratory evaluations, identifying potential root causes, and recommending suitable technical solutions in consultation with the Senior Development Manager.
• Have hands-on experience in coating formulation and application, particularly in Protective Coatings, Epoxy/PU Floor Coatings and Thermoplastic Road Marking systems, to support product development, trials and troubleshooting activities.
  
  

Key Accountabilities

• To develop new products and optimize existing formulations to meet the needs of the customer in order to help the BU to achieve their targets.
• To provide prompt and effective technical service to MPY-ICO customers with a view to ensure that the customers obtain the maximum product benefits from AkzoNobel products, leading to a profitable relationship with the customer.
• To evaluate and develop new and alternate sources of raw materials to ensure availability at competitive price so that the formulation costs are reduced and profit margins are increased. Deleted and hazardous raw materials are substituted with suitable and environment friendly alternatives in line with AkzoNobel global HSE&S policy.
• To carry out in House evaluation of Products against competition and report to Development Manager for corrective actions.
  
  

Experience

• The job holder is MSc Chemistry with 3-5 years of experience from reputable institute
• Has understanding about the role of raw materials in recipe development & modification. His testing results are reliable, reproducible and unchallengeable by internal and external customers & suppliers. The job holder meets KPI’s for testing.
• Operating knowledge of Lotus Notes Database, Microsoft Office and relevant SAP moduleWorks effectively with co-workers and peers as a team player. Helps out colleagues in solving their problems.
• Must have knowledge of applicable HSE procedures, and adheres to these procedures
• Shall be reporting to Senior Development Manager for all technical and product related aspects and to have profound understanding of products and their testing.
