Our client Delta Cash & Carry is looking for a General Manager - Grocery Retail Operations in Lahore
The General Manager (GM) at Delta Cash & Carry is responsible for overseeing all aspects of store operations to ensure smooth and efficient functioning. This role requires a motivated and experienced professional with at least 7 years of experience in grocery retail or similar businesses. The GM is tasked with managing inventory and stock purchasing while coordinating with suppliers to maintain optimal stock levels. In addition to operational oversight, the GM leads a team of 18 employees, taking charge of staff scheduling, performance management, and fostering a collaborative work environment. Strong expertise in sales strategy development, performance monitoring, and supplier negotiations is essential to drive revenue growth and maintain high customer service standards.
The GM ensures that all store processes adhere to company policies and operational standards, focusing on stock control, waste minimization, and enhancing overall sales performance. A comprehensive knowledge of FMCG products, POS systems, and inventory management software is required to support detailed stock movement analysis and reorder planning. Analytical skills coupled with leadership capabilities enable the GM to prepare insightful operational reports and implement effective sales strategies that improve profit margins and stock turnover. Responsibilities
- Manage daily store operations efficiently, ensuring smooth workflow and compliance with company standards.
- Oversee product purchasing by planning and executing timely procurement from distributors and suppliers to maintain stock availability.
- Monitor inventory levels rigorously to prevent stock shortages, minimize dead stock, and reduce wastage and expired items.
- Supervise and lead a team of 18 store personnel, including scheduling and performance management to achieve operational goals.
- Implement and monitor sales strategies to maximize revenue growth and improve profit margins.
- Coordinate stock movement tracking and reorder planning to maintain optimal inventory balance.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and distributors, negotiating favorable terms to benefit store profitability.
- Ensure exceptional customer service and maintain high standards of store presentation and cleanliness.
- Prepare comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly reports including sales performance, stock management, and operational insights.
- Utilize POS systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Excel effectively to support store operations and reporting needs.
- Identify and resolve operational issues promptly, applying problem-solving skills to enhance store performance.
- Promote a positive and honest work environment fostering teamwork, accountability, and responsibility among staff.
- Stay informed about FMCG industry trends and competitor activities to maintain competitive advantage.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory policies governing store operations.
