Our client Gourmet Pakistan is looking for a Head Chef - Bakery Operations in Lahore

Gourmet Pakistan is seeking an experienced Lead Chef to oversee and elevate the bakery and culinary operations within our live baking shops. The Lead Chef will be responsible for ensuring product consistency and maintaining the highest brand standards across all outlets. This role involves close monitoring of standard operating procedures (SOPs), product specifications, and temperature logs to ensure food safety and quality compliance. The Lead Chef will also play a crucial role in training and mentoring a team of 30 staff members, fostering operational excellence and continuous improvement in food quality and presentation.

This position requires a culinary professional with a diploma in Culinary Arts or a related field, backed by 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in bakery and culinary settings. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong leadership skills, advanced knowledge of bakery production processes, and a thorough understanding of food safety standards. The Lead Chef must coordinate various aspects of kitchen management, staff leadership, and quality assurance to achieve superior customer satisfaction and uphold Gourmet Pakistans esteemed reputation in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee product consistency and ensure all bakery items meet established brand standards across live baking shops.
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), product specifications, and maintain accurate temperature logs to guarantee food safety and compliance.
  • Train, coach, and mentor kitchen staff on baking techniques, operational best practices, and health and safety protocols to enhance team performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, presentation, and operational efficiency.
  • Manage inventory levels, kitchen supplies, and equipment to support seamless bakery operations and minimize waste.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of fresh and quality ingredients.
  • Implement and uphold stringent food safety and hygiene standards in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop work schedules and allocate tasks effectively to a team of 30 kitchen staff, ensuring optimal coverage and productivity.
  • Evaluate staff performance, provide feedback, and organize skill development sessions to maintain high service standards.
  • Collaborate with management to design new bakery products and seasonal menus that align with customer preferences and market trends.
  • Handle operational challenges promptly to maintain smooth kitchen functions and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment adhering to all local health and safety regulations.
