Main Purpose of the Job

The Principal serves as the educational and operational leader of the school. He /

she is expected to inspire and motivate all members of the school community and

ensure that all students are engaged in high quality learning opportunities that

are aligned to the school’s philosophy. The ideal candidate must have extensive

international experience in the education sector, specifically in the International

Baccalaureate Programs. (pyp,myp,ibdp ) experience for pearson or cambridge

would also be beneficial

Technical / Professional Leadership


  • Develop, implement, and evaluate the International Baccalaureate Program’s curriculum, lesson plans, schedule, philosophy, goals, and objectives reflecting school and Systems goals.
  • Promotes, participates in and supports on going professional learning and development that is directly linked to student progress including ensuring support for students with diverse educational needs in alignment with IB principals and the schools commitment to well being, belonging and learner success.
  • Demonstrates leadership through engaging with staff and sharing knowledge about effective teaching and learning.
  • Promotes and supports the gaining of worthwhile qualifications and successful transitions to tertiary education or employment for all students.
  • Fosters a professional learning community within which staff members are encouraged to be reflective practitioners engaging with research, and feedback on their professional practice. 6. Ensures the use of best practices for assessment, and analyses and acts upon evidence on student learning to maximize learning for all students.
  • Analyses and makes effective, timely responses to school self-review, external audits, and outcomes of student learning
  • Focuses in particular on success in learning for students with special education needs, and students at risk of not succeeding at school.
  • Provides professional direction to the work of others by encouraging vision and innovation in classroom practice and school organization
  • Reflects on own Performance Appraisal and demonstrates a commitment to own ongoing learning in order to improve performance.
  • Represent the school professionally within the IB community .
  • Utilise student achievement data,and stakeholder feedback to inform strategic planning and school improvement initiatives.


Strategic Leadership


  • Actively works with the Board of Governors towards the development of


a shared vision and Strategic Plan for the future of the school, which identifies priorities and targets for:


  • Ensuring students have access to high quality learning and clear pathways to agreed qualifications and transition to tertiary learning or employment.
  • Addressing barriers to learning
  • Fostering high achievement of students
  • Employing teachers of the highest quality available
  • Focusing the school on continued improvement
  • Lead the school on the IB journey
  • Understands the implications of Pakistan’s changing cultural, social and economic context, and ensures that these changes are reflected in the school’s strategic planning.
  • Makes progress towards achieving the vision through the effective management of available resources


Staff Management


  • Motivates and supports staff to improve the quality of teaching and learning
  • Manages the staff of the school, within available resources, to support effective delivery of the curriculum, the implementation of the strategic goals, and improved learning outcomes for students
  • Establishes procedures and practices to maintain and improve staff effectiveness through appropriate recruitment, supervision, performance management, provision of professional development, and encouragement of self-development


Relationship Management


  • Ensures regular interaction with parents and the school community on student progress and other school-related matters.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of, and is responsive to the diverse concerns and needs of students, parents, staff, Board of Governors, and the community.
  • Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing to a range of audiences 4. Manages conflict effectively and actively works to achieve solutions
  • Represents the school and acts to achieve its objectives
  • Networking with embassies to develop a healthy relationship in the expat community and for image building and getting student admissions.


Financial and Asset Management


  • Creates a teaching and learning environment that is perceived as safe and supportive by students, parents, Board of Governors and the community
  • Effectively and efficiently uses available financial resources and assets to support improved student learning outcomes
  • Manages an effective budget planning system, in association with the Board of Governors, and works within available resources
  • Works effectively and efficiently with the Board of Governors in controlling, monitoring and reporting on the use of finances and assets
  • Aligns resource allocation with the school’s annual and strategic objectives.

Contract


  • This is a two (02) year contract with an option to renew upon its completion.
