Investigator Financial Analyst

The Investigator Financial Analyst serves as a trusted financial partner to investigators by providing clear financial guidance, open communication, and proactive support related to clinical trial budgets, study profitability, and financial operations.
The Investigator Financial Analyst is conversational, approachable, detail-oriented, and able to explain financial concepts in a way that builds trust and collaboration with investigators and operational teams. This position will actively participate in monthly meetings with investigators, ensuring complete transparency regarding study finances, revenue, expenses, invoices, and site performance.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Financial Partnership & Investigator Support
a. Serve as the financial contact for Principal Investigators and Sub-Investigators.
b. Work hand in hand with the Vice President of Strategic Relations, and CMO.
c. Build strong, collaborative relationships through regular communication and transparency.
d. Provide financial insight and support related to clinical trial budgets, study profitability, and investigator compensation.
e. Explain financial data in a conversational, easy-to-understand manner for non-financial stakeholders.
f. Maintain open communication regarding study performance, collections, and financial expectations.
2. Monthly Financial Meetings
a. Attend and actively participate in monthly investigator meetings (virtual meetings).
b. Present financial summaries, study metrics, invoicing updates, payment status, and profitability analyses.
c. Communicate financial trends, concerns, and opportunities clearly and professionally.
d. Collaborate with investigators and operational leadership to improve financial performance and
study efficiency.
e. Answer questions or address any financial concerns that the investigator may want to discuss during Meetings.
3. Budgeting & Financial Analysis
a. Monitor study revenue, expenses, pass-through costs, and investigator payments.
b. Track accounts receivable, sponsor payments, and outstanding invoices.
c. Assist with forecasting study profitability and financial planning.
d. Identify discrepancies and resolve financial issues proactively.
4. Operational Collaboration
a. Work closely with the investigator management team, clinical operations, business development, contracts, and accounting teams.
b. Support process improvement initiatives related to study financial management.
c. Ensure financial compliance with company policies and sponsor agreements.
d. Help create a culture of accountability, transparency, and partnership across departments.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field is strongly recommended.
Experience:
- 3+ years of financial analysis experience preferred.
- Experience in clinical research, healthcare, or life sciences is strongly preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills is a must.
- Ability to communicate financial information in a conversational and collaborative manner.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, google spreadsheets and financial reporting systems.
- Relationship-driven and approachable personality.
- Comfortable speaking with physicians, investigators, and executive leadership.
- Flexibility in scheduling as most visits with investigators are routinely altered.
- Highly transparent, trustworthy, and solutions oriented.
- Ability to simplify complex financial information.
- Self-motivated with strong follow-through and accountability.
- Team-oriented mindset with a customer service approach to investigator support

- Ability to work with Executive team leaders to plan, strategize and communicate financial landscape to investigators.
