This role focuses on maintaining and optimizing the network infrastructure critical to the delivery of internet services. The engineer is responsible for troubleshooting network issues, configuring network devices, and supporting protocols to ensure reliable and efficient connectivity for customers. The position involves working closely with advanced network hardware from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, and MikroTik, utilizing expertise in routing and switching protocols, and performing regular network performance assessments.

Responsibilities
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot ISP network infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
- Configure and manage routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP to optimize network traffic flow.
- Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot network hardware such as routers, switches, and firewalls from Cisco, Juniper, MikroTik, and Huawei.
- Collaborate with the team to analyze network issues using tools like ping, traceroute, and other diagnostic utilities.
- Implement VLANs, NAT, DNS configurations according to ISP standards and best practices.
- Provide second-level support for network incidents, escalating complex issues appropriately.
- Lead and manage a team of two network support staff, assigning duties, reviewing work, and providing technical mentorship.
- Maintain accurate network documentation and configuration records for compliance and auditing.
- Participate in shift work and on-call rotas to ensure 24/7 network support coverage.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers to resolve hardware or software issues.
- Continuously assess infrastructure for potential improvements, implementing upgrades and patches as necessary.
- Train team members on new technologies, troubleshooting methods, and protocol changes to maintain technical proficiency.
