About The Role
We are looking for a Head of Operations to manage studio operations across delivery, people and culture, workplace, project management and leadership support. You will establish efficient processes and SOPs, ensure smooth day-to-day operations, and build a team to take over these functions as the studio grows. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of relevant experience in a tech, software, or gaming company, with strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
What You Will Do
Studio operating rhythm
- Run the studio calendar: OKR cycles, leadership meetings, and reviews
- Own the SOP library and run monthly compliance audits
- Make sure the weekly executive report lands on time and complete
- Own the studio-wide Agile process and sprint calendar across game teams
- Run the release calendar so every build delivery has a date, an owner, and a go-live checklist
- Track sprint health and raise risks early, with options
- Own onboarding, probation, exits, attendance, and performance processes
- Set up buddies and structured onboarding so new joiners feel part of the team from day one
- Run regular pulse checks and feedback channels, and act on what the team raises
- Spot morale and retention risks early and work with leads to fix them
- Plan team events, launch and milestone celebrations, and studio-wide gatherings
- Set up recognition for great work and for living the studio's values
- Keep internal communication clear: updates, wins, and changes shared on time
- Audit the monthly finance reports from Game District's finance team and resolve any gaps
- Maintain and improve the studio's finance reporting tools and dashboards
- Prepare monthly finance summaries for the Studio Head
- Track reimbursements, vendors, and subscriptions
- Own the workspace environment and keep improving its layout, comfort, and feel
- Run regular in-office activities that make the studio a place people want to be
- Manage furniture, equipment, assets, and stationery
- Make sure every new joiner is fully set up on day one
- Manage the Studio Head's calendar, meeting prep, and follow-ups, and track leadership commitments to closure
- Act as the main contact with Game District's shared HR, Finance, Recruitment, and Admin teams, keeping studio work moving through them on time
- Document each area as an SOP while you run it
- Hire, train, and hand over once each pipeline is stable
- The operating, sprint, and release calendars run on time without the Studio Head chasing them
- Every core process (onboarding, reimbursements, finance review, events) has a written SOP in active use
- Game District's monthly finance reports are audited, and a summary reaches the Studio Head on a fixed date
- New joiners are fully set up and onboarded within their first week
- Team engagement is tracked through regular pulse checks and is trending up
- Your first internal operations hire is made, with a clean handover of their area
Must have
- 3+ years of experience in operations, admin, HR, or project management
- Experience in a tech, software, or games company
- Comfort handling HR, finance reporting, and admin work hands-on
- Organised, proactive, and firm on follow-ups
- Strong English communication, written and spoken
- Games industry experience
- Agile / Scrum experience across multiple teams
- Experience working with a parent company or shared services team
- Experience setting up SOPs or an operations function from scratch
