Principal Software Test Engineer - Manual + Automation

Clustox is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Test Engineer to lead quality assurance initiatives across our software products and platforms. This role requires a hands-on technical leader who can drive test automation strategy, mentor QA teams, and leverage AI-powered testing tools to improve software quality, testing efficiency, and delivery speed.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
• Define and execute the overall QA strategy, standards, and testing roadmap.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and DevOps teams to embed quality throughout the SDLC.
• Drive quality metrics, reporting, and continuous process optimization.
  
  
  

Test Automation & Quality Engineering

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks for web, mobile, APIs, and backend services.
• Build and execute automated regression, smoke, integration, and end-to-end test suites.
• Review test coverage and identify opportunities for automation and optimization.
• Ensure scalability and maintainability of test automation solutions.
  
  
  

Manual Testing & Quality Assurance

• Create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
• Conduct exploratory, functional, integration, and user acceptance testing.
• Investigate, document, and track defects through resolution.
• Validate software releases and production deployments.
  
  
  

AI-Enabled Testing

• Leverage AI-powered testing tools and platforms to accelerate test creation, execution, maintenance, and analysis.
• Utilize Generative AI tools to improve test case generation, requirement analysis, defect triaging, and quality documentation.
• Evaluate emerging AI testing technologies and recommend adoption where beneficial.
• Drive innovation in QA processes using AI-assisted quality engineering practices.
  
  
  

Stakeholder Communication

• Communicate testing progress, quality metrics, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance and support to engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
  
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of software testing experience with at least 2 years in a QA leadership or Test Lead role.
• Strong experience in automation testing for web, mobile, API, and backend systems.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium, Cypress, Appium, Cucumber, or similar frameworks.
• Strong understanding of manual testing methodologies and quality assurance best practices.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
  
  
  

AI & Modern QA Requirements

Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable:

• ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Claude, Gemini, or similar AI productivity tools.
• AI-driven test case generation and test maintenance approaches.
