Chandigarh, July 28, 2026: The Punjab Government has invited applications from eligible Scheduled Caste graduates for admission to its one-year Free Stenography Training Programme (2026–27), aimed at enhancing employability and creating better job opportunities for youth.

Announcing the initiative, Punjab Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur said the programme offers 80 seats, including 40 each in Punjabi and English stenography. The last date to submit applications is August 20, 2026.

Dr. Baljit Kaur said the training programme has been launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to equip Scheduled Caste youth with industry-relevant skills and improve their employment prospects in government departments, courts, public sector organisations and the private sector.

The Minister said selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹1,500, free hostel accommodation, and other institutional facilities to support them during the training period.

Applications must be submitted to the Principal, Ambedkar Institute, Sector 60, Phase 3B-2, SAS Nagar (Mohali) by August 20. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

To be eligible, applicants must belong to the Scheduled Caste category, be permanent residents of Punjab, hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university, and be below 30 years of age as on August 20, 2026. The annual family income should not exceed ₹2.50 lakh, supported by a valid income certificate.

The Minister said interviews and shorthand and typing proficiency tests will be conducted on August 27, 2026, at 10 a.m. Final selection will be made strictly on the basis of merit and the prescribed admission process.

Dr. Baljit Kaur said the Punjab Government remains committed to promoting skill development and creating equal employment opportunities for Scheduled Caste youth through such welfare initiatives.
