The Duty Manager - Ramp at MENZIES-RAS Pvt Ltd is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the ramp, baggage segregation, ground support equipment (GSE) delivery and inspection, and cleaning teams. The role ensures that all activities comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements including airline protocols, PCAA guidelines, and company policies. This position demands a hands-on approach to manage operational tasks, address equipment or personnel issues, and maintain an efficient workflow while prioritizing safety and service excellence. The Duty Manager coordinates staffing and resources, maintaining up-to-date training and procedure compliance among all personnel. Although this role does not involve managing a team directly, it requires the incumbent to inspire and support staff performance through visible leadership and proactive problem-solving. The Duty Manager acts as a key figure in upholding safety measures, reporting incidents promptly, and fostering a secure and productive airside environment aligned with company and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily ramp operations ensuring full coverage by trained staff and adherence to operational schedules.
• Coordinate baggage segregation and ground support activities, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of services.
• Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions or failures, coordinating maintenance or replacement as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with airline, Menzies-RAS, PCAA, and other regulatory body requirements through enforcement of policies and procedures.
• Manage and update duty rosters and attendance records, adjusting shifts to maintain efficient labor utilization.
• Investigate operational issues within the ramp team and coordinate follow-ups to resolve safety, efficiency, or staffing concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of accidents, incidents, and near misses, updating MORSE reporting system promptly.
• Enforce uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) standards to maintain safety and professionalism in the workplace.
• Identify training and development needs within the team, facilitating continuous improvement and compliance with airline operating procedures.
• Provide visible leadership presence on the airside to motivate staff and foster a culture of operational and service excellence.
• Coordinate manpower assessments and assist in recruitment processes to ensure optimal resourcing levels.
• Implement company policies designed to improve station efficiency, safety, security, and people management practices.
• Ensure all staff remain up to date with health and safety regulations, training requirements, and customer service standards.
• Maintain a safe and secure working environment at all times, adhering strictly to company and legal health and safety obligations.
• Collaborate with the Department Head and operations management to ensure sufficient shift coverage.
• Support the hire in and hire out processes for Menzies-RAS ground support equipment (GSE).
