Our client Al Tawwakal Holdings is looking for a Restaurant Accountant - Financial Reporting & Compliance in Karachi
Al Tawwakal Holdings is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant with at least four years of relevant experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in financial reporting, account reconciliation, general ledger management, tax compliance, budgeting and forecasting, and proficient use of accounting software such as QuickBooks and Tally ERP. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of restaurant accounting, food costing, inventory management, and compliance with local tax laws and accounting standards. The Accountant will play a critical role in managing full-cycle accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, and supporting cost control efforts to improve profitability.
In this position, the Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial data through diligent bookkeeping of accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and processing payroll and staff salaries. They will prepare and present periodic financial reports including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analyses to support management decisions. Collaboration with various departments will be necessary to track sales, expenses, inventory purchases, and supplier payments. This role does not involve managing a team but requires strong independent working capabilities and the ability to meet deadlines while upholding confidentiality and trustworthiness.

Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting processes including bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation to ensure accurate financial records.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Record and monitor all sales, expenses, inventory purchases, and supplier payments related to restaurant operations.
- Process payroll, including calculating staff salaries and managing tax deductions in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage and reconcile various payment transactions including cash, credit card, and online payments accurately.
- Maintain detailed records of inventory, food costs, and beverage costs to support financial accuracy and cost management.
- Ensure timely and accurate payment to suppliers while following up on outstanding receivables to maintain good vendor relationships.
- Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns such as sales tax and income tax in accordance with local laws.
- Collaborate with management to control operational costs and enhance profitability through detailed financial analysis and reporting.
- Conduct monthly stock counts and reconcile physical inventory with system records to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cost analyses to guide financial planning and decision-making.
- Ensure full compliance with local tax regulations and accepted accounting standards consistently.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and Tally ERP effectively to streamline accounting tasks and reporting.
- Leverage advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and lookup functions, to analyze financial data and generate reports.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity in all financial and proprietary company information.
- Work independently, manage time efficiently, and meet strict deadlines to support business operations effectively.
