Contract type: Full time
Stellic is growing! We're looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer based in Pakistan to lead the evolution of our frontend architecture. This is a high-ownership role where you'll shape our forward-looking frontend strategy, drive migration away from our legacy stack, and build world-class product experiences that students and advisors love.

About Us

We're building a future where every student can move through their education with clarity, confidence, and purpose. Our platform transforms the student experience, giving them the tools they need to make the right decisions about their degree plans, track their journey, and build an education and career path that's truly their own.

Stellic is a fast-growing startup backed by leading social impact investors, partnering with top institutions like Cornell, MIT, Columbia, Princeton, and Ohio State to support over 1 million students across 7 countries. As we scale to serve more universities worldwide, we remain deeply committed to this mission, driven by our values, and committed to building a high-performance team that's here to make a lasting difference on both students' lives and higher education.

About You

You're an expert frontend engineer with strong opinions about architecture and a track record of building high-performance, user-facing product experiences. You lead with craft, mentor the engineers around you, and care deeply about the quality of what gets shipped. You're equally comfortable making big architectural decisions and sweating the details on a component.

You're an expert frontend engineer with strong opinions about architecture and a track record of building high-performance, user-facing product experiences. You write tests like you mean it, design for scale from day one, and lead with craft — mentoring the engineers around you while still sweating the details on a component. You're equally comfortable making big architectural decisions and shipping pixel-perfect experiences that users actually love.

AS OUR SENIOR FRONTEND ENGINEER, YOU WILL OWN

  • Frontend Architecture: Lead the selection of our forward-looking frontend stack and develop a strategy for iteratively migrating our legacy frontend to the new architecture.
  • Scalable Solutions: Design and lead the implementation of scalable, high-performance frontend solutions — delivering low-latency experiences across multiple regions using modern CDNs.
  • Engineering Excellence: Up-level engineering rigor across the team by mentoring engineers in best practices, design systems, component architecture, and testing strategies.
  • Design Collaboration: Work closely with our design team on design systems, shared components, and delivering experiences that are both beautiful and reliable.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with founders and product managers to understand the why behind each feature, and help drive alignment on frontend priorities alongside product priorities.
  • Leveraging AI: Utilizing AI agents and leveraging them to derive feature work and productivity.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL, YOU SHOULD HAVE

  • 5+ years of frontend engineering experience working at scale
  • Expert-level skills with TypeScript, JavaScript, and modern frontend frameworks (AngularJS and React a plus)
  • A proven track record of building world-class, end-user-facing product experiences
  • Deep experience with design systems and authoring and maintaining shared components
  • Strong background in high-performance, low-latency frontend delivery using modern CDNs (Cloudflare, Fastly, etc.) including bundle chunking
  • Experience with frontend analytics and experimentation frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with Web bundlers like Esbuild, Webpack or Vite.
  • Strong background in API design, end-to-end testing (Playwright a plus), and CI/CD practices (AWS CodeDeploy, Sentry, Grafana, Prometheus, Coralogix a plus)
  • A strong ownership mindset — you lead complex implementations autonomously and bring others along with you
  • Clear communication skills for collaborating across product, design, and customer-facing teams

WHY YOU'LL LOVE WORKING AT STELLIC

  • Shape the future of an impact-driven company transforming higher education.
  • Work closely with mission-driven leaders who are ambitious and committed to solving meaningful problems.
  • Learn from the best: collaborate with leading voices in higher education and SaaS.
  • Competitive USD salary remitted directly to your account, shielded from currency and tax volatility.
  • Generous stock options in a Series B stage startup
  • Culture of excellence and ownership. We move fast, take responsibility, and aim high.
  • Flexible, hybrid work environment with core collaboration hours and full remote setup support (monitor, chair, internet, and more).
  • Comprehensive health coverage — 100% of hospitalization premiums for you, your spouse, and children, plus 50% for parents. Annual OPD allowance covering doctor visits, medication, dental, optical, and mental health.
  • Commute benefits to make daily life a little easier.
  • Annual international retreats in some of the world’s most beautiful cities and towns.

Note: You must be based in Pakistan and willing to be available during US collaboration hours, 8:00 PM to 12:00 AM PKT, Monday through Thursday.
