Site Engineer

The Site Engineer is responsible for planning, supervising, and executing telecom site deployment activities, ensuring safe, high-quality, and on-time delivery of network rollout projects. The role involves managing Installation Technicians and Riggers, coordinating site resources, monitoring quality and HSE compliance, supporting integration activities, and ensuring customer acceptance for 2G, 3G, 4G LTE, and 5G network deployments involving Huawei, ZTE, and Nokia equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Site Execution & Team Management

Lead and supervise site installation activities performed by Installation Technicians and Riggers.

Allocate manpower, tools, and materials to ensure efficient project execution.

Monitor daily site progress and ensure activities are completed according to project schedules.

Coordinate with Project Managers, customers, subcontractors, warehouse teams, and integration engineers.

Ensure all site activities comply with approved Method of Procedures (MOPs), Scope of Work (SOW), and customer requirements.

Telecom Equipment Installation Supervision

Supervise installation of Huawei, ZTE, and Nokia telecom equipment for 2G/3G/4G LTE/5G networks.

Ensure proper installation of BBUs, RRUs, cabinets, antennas, microwave equipment, fiber/CPRI cabling, and associated infrastructure.

Verify equipment installation, grounding, cable routing, labeling, and weatherproofing according to OEM standards.

Power System & Infrastructure Management

Oversee installation of DC power systems, rectifiers, battery banks, and TMC/outdoor cabinets.

Ensure proper rectifier integration, alarm patching, battery connections, and grounding activities.

Verify installation quality for Huawei Power Cube, Delta, Emerson/Vertiv, and other telecom power solutions.

Antenna & Microwave Deployment

Supervise antenna mounting, Multi-Band antenna installation, RET configuration, and tilt adjustments.

Verify antenna azimuth, sector orientation, and compliance with approved RF designs.

Oversee microwave antenna installation, alignment, and optimization to achieve target RSL levels.

Quality Assurance & Customer Compliance

Conduct site quality inspections and ensure compliance with customer, operator, and OEM standards.

Review installation checklists, ATP documents, quality photographs, and as-built documentation.

Ensure punch points, audit findings, and customer observations are resolved within agreed timelines.

Support customer acceptance tests and final site handover activities.

Testing & Integration Support

Coordinate with integration teams during commissioning and site activation.

Verify alarm integration, power system functionality, fiber connectivity, and RF readiness.

Support troubleshooting activities using Site Master, Power Meter, and other telecom test equipment when required.

Ensure all pre-integration and post-installation checks are completed successfully.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

Enforce compliance with tower climbing, electrical safety, and work-at-height procedures.

Ensure proper use of PPE, fall protection systems, lifting equipment, and safety tools.

Conduct toolbox talks, risk assessments, and site safety briefings.

Stop unsafe work practices and ensure full compliance with customer HSE requirements.

Reporting & Documentation

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.

Track site milestones, material utilization, manpower deployment, and project status.

Maintain accurate records of site activities, acceptance documents, and handover packages.

Escalate project risks, delays, and technical issues to management in a timely manner.

Experience & Skills

Relevant experience in telecom network deployment, site supervision, and project execution.

Strong hands-on knowledge of Huawei, ZTE, and Nokia RAN, transmission, and power systems.

Experience managing installation teams, riggers, subcontractors, and field operations.

Sound understanding of DC power systems, battery banks, rectifiers, microwave links, antennas, RRUs, and BBUs.

Knowledge of antenna alignment, RET configuration, microwave optimization, and quality standards.

Ability to interpret site designs, TSSR, LOS reports, ATP requirements, and engineering documentation.

Familiarity with Site Master, Power Meter, and telecom testing procedures.

Strong leadership, planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.
