Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to design, develop, and guide the implementation of scalable, secure, resilient, and high-performance enterprise-grade solutions. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in software architecture, distributed systems, architectural design patterns, messaging systems, distributed caching, and enterprise integration. The candidate will be responsible for translating business requirements into robust technical architectures, addressing complex engineering challenges, and ensuring that solutions meet enterprise standards for scalability, availability, maintainability, and security.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end solution architecture for assigned enterprise initiatives, translating business requirements into scalable, secure, highly available and maintainable designs.
• Develop architecture blueprints, technical designs, integration strategies, architectural standards and documented decisions aligned with business priorities.
• Design distributed systems and microservices supporting high transaction volumes and concurrent processing, selecting suitable architectural styles and software design patterns.
• Design and guide implementation of distributed caching using Redis, including cache invalidation, TTL, consistency and cache-aside or write-through strategies.
• Define asynchronous communication and event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ or equivalent platforms, including reliable message processing and recovery.
• Design reliable inter-service communication, fault-tolerant workflows and distributed transaction management; apply Saga, CQRS, Event Sourcing, Outbox, Idempotency, Circuit Breaker, Retry and Bulkhead patterns where justified.
• Resolve architectural challenges involving data consistency, concurrency, duplicate processing, race conditions, synchronisation and eventual consistency.
• Define high availability, fault tolerance, load balancing, horizontal scaling and disaster recovery strategies with agreed recovery objectives.
• Design secure APIs and enterprise integrations across internal services, external systems, third-party providers and legacy applications.
• Establish architecture guidelines, coding standards, security practices and measurable non-functional requirements covering performance, availability, maintainability and observability.
• Lead architecture and design reviews, identify technical risks, assess technology alternatives and recommend solutions based on trade-offs, implementation feasibility and lifecycle cost.
• Collaborate with product owners, engineering, DevOps, security and infrastructure teams to guide delivery and ensure implementation conforms to approved architecture.
• Provide VP-I-level technical leadership, mentor engineers and resolve complex design issues throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Validate critical decisions through prototypes, design walkthroughs and performance or failure-scenario testing, explaining pattern selection, alternatives and behaviour under high load and partial failure

Experience & Qualification Required

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field from an HEC-recognized university, Masters degree will be preffered.
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience in software engineering, system design and enterprise solution architecture, with demonstrated hands-on delivery of production-grade distributed solutions and technical leadership.

Skills & Competencies

• Architecture: Microservices, Modular Monoliths, Layered/Clean Architecture, design patterns, SOLID, DDD and architectural trade-offs.
• Distributed Systems: Transactions, consistency, concurrency, synchronisation, fault tolerance, retries, timeouts, idempotency, locking, rate limiting and back-pressure.
• Messaging: Kafka, RabbitMQ or equivalent; delivery guarantees, ordering, partitioning, acknowledgements, retries, dead-letter queues, consumer groups and Saga-based workflows.
• Caching and Data: Redis or equivalent; invalidation, TTL, consistency, cache-aside/write-through; relational/NoSQL databases, partitioning, indexing, replication and optimisation.
• Integration: REST APIs, gateways, authentication/authorisation, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, versioning, backward compatibility and secure internal, external and legacy integrations.
• Cloud and Operations: Docker, Kubernetes, cloud-native design, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, blue-green/canary deployments, logging, tracing, monitoring and service-level objectives.
• Leadership: Lead design reviews, mentor engineers and communicate architectural decisions, implementation implications and risks.
