Key Responsibilities
- Manage import operations, customs clearance, and regulatory compliance through Karachi Port and Port Qasim.
- Coordinate with customs clearing agents to ensure timely clearance while minimizing demurrage and detention costs.
- Ensure accuracy of import documentation, including Letters of Credit (LCs), Bills of Lading, Certificates of Analysis (COAs), and related shipping documents.
- Build and maintain relationships with international suppliers, freight forwarders, and shipping lines.
- Negotiate freight rates and optimize transportation and logistics costs.
- Monitor inbound shipments and provide accurate delivery timelines to internal stakeholders.
- Oversee warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, and stock reconciliation processes.
- Implement inventory control measures to reduce aging stock and improve inventory turnover.
- Coordinate just-in-time (JIT) deliveries to meet customer production schedules.
- Identify opportunities to reduce landed costs through improved logistics planning and shipment consolidation.
- Collaborate with the finance team on import payment planning, cash flow forecasting, and Letters of Credit.
- Drive continuous improvements across supply chain processes and operational performance.
What We're Looking For:
- 8–12 years of experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Import Operations.
- Industry experience within Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, FMCG, or Agri-Commodity Trading is preferred.
- Strong expertise in WEBOC, customs clearance, and import/export documentation.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP Business One, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of Incoterms 2020 and international freight management.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related discipline.
- MBA or professional certifications such as CSCP or equivalent are an added advantage.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong knowledge of Pakistan customs regulations and Karachi port operations.
