Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of accountants, ensuring high performance and professional development.
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements for international clients, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow forecasts
- Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting principles and tax regulations relevant to client operations
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries
- Review and approve financial transactions, payroll runs, and tax filings for international clients
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure data integrity
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Canadian clients regarding accounting and financial inquiries.
- Utilize and optimize accounting software including Quickbooks Online, XERO, and Zoho for efficient operation.,
- Generate financial reports and provide insightful analysis to support client decision-making.,
- Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CA, CPA) are highly desirable.,
- 5-8 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with at least 2-3 years in a team lead or supervisory role.,
- Demonstrated strong Communication Skills, both written and verbal, particularly for engaging with international clients.,Proven ability in Team Management, including mentoring, performance evaluation, and conflict resolution.,
- Expert-level Software Proficiency, especially with Quickbooks Online, XERO, Zoho, and Microsoft Excel.,
- Comprehensive Accounting Skills, including knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations (an asset)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with an emphasis on accurate financial reporting
- Exceptional Task Prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple deliverables under tight deadlines
- Familiarity with financial regulations and best practices relevant to outsourced accounting services.
