We are seeking a Upwork/Technical Bidding Specialist with at least 1 year of hands-on experience bidding on and winning software development contracts.
In this role, you will analyze technical project briefs, scope software solutions, and write tailored technical proposals for Upwork and secondary platforms. You will serve as the first point of contact for technical buyers, establishing our agency's authority before involving the engineering team.
Non-Negotiable Requirements
We are looking for someone who can go beyond simply submitting Upwork proposals — someone who can understand the client's technical requirement, identify the right solution, ask intelligent questions, present relevant portfolio work, and convert qualified opportunities into software development projects.

Non-Negotiable Requirements
- 100% Mandatory: Minimum 1+ year of hands-on Technical Bidding experience specifically for software development agencies or IT services.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to read, understand, and break down technical project briefs, including AI and custom web applications.
- Upwork Experience: Verifiable track record of bidding on, qualifying, and closing software development projects on Upwork.
- Proposal Crafting: Ability to translate client requirements into clear acceptance criteria, technical discovery questions, and relevant project milestones.
- Written English: Strong, clear written English with the ability to write bespoke, non-generic proposals without relying on low-effort AI-generated templates.
- Review and evaluate incoming Upwork project briefs on a daily basis.
- Assess technical feasibility, project scope, and client fit.
- Draft high-converting proposals tailored to the client's exact requirements, technology stack, and pain points.
- Handle initial client responses.
- Ask relevant technical discovery questions.
- Clarify project requirements and scope before involving the engineering team.
- Identify and present relevant technical case studies and live demos to build client confidence.
- Maintain consistent proposal activity.
- Record lead statuses.
- Track proposal responses, conversions, and win metrics.
- Background in software engineering, technical writing, or project scoping.
- Familiarity with secondary lead-generation channels such as LinkedIn outreach and Clutch.
- Understanding of software development processes and technical terminology.
