Agribusiness Plans Development Expert

Background: The project aims to enhance the commercial viability and climate resilience smallholder’s business plans for various marketable value chains in Balochistan.

Objective: To develop detailed, actionable, and financially sound business plans for various value chains, dried fruits and vegetables and hydroponically produced high value vegetables ensuring its alignment with market demand, sustainable supply chain and post-harvest best practices.

Scope of Work

• Conduct a rapid assessment of selected agribusiness units/collectives, including their production capacity, market linkages, and financial capacity.
• Develop comprehensive business plans including, but not limited to: executive summary, market analysis, marketing and sales strategy, operational plan, financial projections (cash flow, income statement, balance sheet), IRR, risk assessment, and Cost-benefit analysis.
• Ensure each plan incorporates climate-smart practices, resource efficiency, and gender-inclusive approaches.
• Facilitate a review and validation of small holder’s biz plans to incorporate the comments of key experts.

Deliverables

• Inception report outlining methodology and work plan.

• Draft up to twelve business plans in the target value chains

• Finalized business plans (print and digital versions).

• Final assignment report with recommendations.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Charted accountancy or related field.
• Minimum 7-10 years of proven experience in developing business plans for agribusinesses, preferably in rural or development contexts.
• Strong financial modeling and market analysis skills.
• Familiarity with the agricultural value chains in Balochistan.
• Excellent writing and presentation skills in English
