Agro Officer Green House

Overview

Under direction from Company management and agricultural experts, support Green House team to produce disease free minitubers & G1 seed that meets standards of PepsiCo.

Responsibilities

• Crop scouting and follow ups
• Ensure plantlets & G1 crop monitoring from sowing till harvesting and handling
• Ensure Green Houses readiness for planting plantlets in growing tables & G1 crop in soil
• Provide visibility of crop performance and take corrective actions
• Ensure Green Houses fumigation before planting plantlets & G1 crop
• Ensure land preparation, laterals laying & polythene spreading for effective soil disinfection through solarization
• Ensure cocopeat availability & readiness for plantlets planting in growing tables as per 7 years rolling forecast plantlets planting number
• Ensure used cocopeat disinfection & bag storage after minitubers harvesting
• Ensure timely procurement of growing tables, net bags, polythene & high density black sheets for plantlets planting
• Ensure procurement of pesticides & fertilizers for both G0 & G1 crops & keep record of the balance inventory
• Operate & monitor green house system (temperature, humidity & ventilation) and adjust climate for optimal plant growth & yields
• Ensure minitubers treatment with fungicide before auto grading & counting
• Ensure implementation of all the SOPs of plantlets & minitubers planting, fertigation, pesticide sprays, harvesting, sorting & grading, auto counting & storage
• Support Green House Manager in AOP volumes procurements
• Ensure procurement of drip laterals & fertigation machine readiness before G1 crop planting
• Weekly data collection of G0 & G1 crop & prepare all the required data sheets
• Monitor crop quality & ensure compliance with quality standards
• Supervise green house worker/labor from planting to harvesting operations and train workers on safe & efficient greenhouse practices
• Ensure Terrains creation & task confirmations of G0 & G1 crop in Smart Agro
• GEHSMS implementation of allocated standards by Green House Manager
• Apart from the above, employee is expected to perform other accountabilities, time to time assigned by the manager.

B.Sc. (Hons.)/M.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture

Knowledge of potato growing area and crop management

Technical know-how about crop production in green houses & different pest and their control.

Fluent in local languages

Computer Skills

With 1 / 2 years’ experience at supervisory level with any pesticide/seed company or 2-3 year experience with Agro base field work.

Collaborates well with others to deliver results.

Consistently works against the right priorities.

Demonstrates perseverance and resilience in the pursuit of goals.

Displays responsible and ethical behavior towards customers, suppliers and others in the organization.
