Assistant Manager Business Finance – Plant wise P&L

Purpose

Responsibilities

The purpose of this role is to support Manager Plant wise P&L, Sharing Mechanisms & PPA in carrying out tasks related to Plant wise P&L, O&M Sharing & related research activities for all KE Generation Plants and subsequent reporting requirements for internal stakeholders. Responsibilities include:

• Assist in preparation and reporting of Plant wise P&L along with reconciliation of revenue and cost to identify Gain / loss - important as now plant will be responsible for their own P&L under the new Plant wise tariff regime
• Monitoring tariff changes and their impact on company costs.
• Ensure consistency within KE plants and practices followed in other entities, and highlight risks where there are changes in processes.
• Creation of overhaul reserves required based on new Tariff structures.
• Assist in automation of revenue recording and related processes
  
  

Education & Experience

Qualified ACCA with 1 year of experience or a Bachelors’ Degree in Finance / Business Administration with atleast 2 year of work experience

Area Of Responsibilities

1 Plant wise P&L reporting & Overhaul Reserves:

• Prepare plant wise P&L on monthly basis based on Plant wise Tariff and break up of costs
• Work with reporting team to allocate central costs including O&M, Finance costs, other expense, other income etc.
• Prepare reconciliation of revenue and cost side to identify reasons for Losses / Gains to minimize losses and maximize value
• Prepare data submissions for Monthly management report and other management reports for Generation with respect to Plant wise P&L etc
• Accounting of O&M expenses and reserves inline of new tariff regime
  
  

2 O&M sharing mechanisms

Analyze O&M Cost Sharing

• Carefully examine the clauses within Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) that govern the allocation of operation and maintenance (O&M) costs.
• Remain aware of the accuracy of the cost sharing mechanisms, considering factors such as cost components, allocation methodologies, and dispute resolution procedures.
• Highlight and discuss any potential issues or areas of concern related to O&M cost sharing with Manager Plant Wise P&L and assist in development of strategies to mitigate risks.
  
  

Maintain Comprehensive Records

• Develop and maintain a centralized repository for all documents related to Revenue Models including tariffs, Indexations, and Plant Hourly Data.
• Organize and index documents to ensure easy access and retrieval.
• Regularly update and maintain records to reflect the latest information and changes.
  
  

Prepare Reports And Presentations

• Compile regular reports summarizing the findings and recommendations related to tariff indexation, Revenue Models and O&M sharing mechanisms.
• Prepare clear and concise presentations to effectively communicate the impact of Plant Outages and other impacts interalia Degradation & other impacts on the company's financial performance.
  
  

4 Management Reporting & MIS

• Preparation of ad hoc management reports, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and timeliness in delivery.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define report requirements and objectives, ensuring alignment with user needs and priorities.
• Co-ordinate with plant teams involved in report preparation, ensuring adherence to quality standards and best practices.
• Continuously engage with Manager Plant Wise P&L for refinement of reporting processes to improve effectiveness and efficiency in delivering ad hoc management reports.
