Purpose

AM (Electrical) shall perform his responsibilities in consultation with Manager (Electrical). He will be liable for proper planning and safe execution of all maintenance activities which include preventive, condition monitoring, corrective or predictive maintenance. The position requires organizational and administration expertise for effectively managing a team of subordinates.

Education

BE/ME Electronics or Electrical

Knowledge

  • Possess knowledge associated with power plant operations especially regarding Gas Turbine & its generator and Steam Turbine & its generator.
  • Should possess in depth theoretical and practical knowledge of field electrical switchgears (11.5KV, 6.6KV, 0.4KV), large transformers, motors, UPS/ Charger & batteries.
  • Should possess in depth theoretical and practical knowledge of fire alarm/ fire suppression systems.
  • Possess profound knowledge of HV Equipment including 220KV GIS and protection relays.
  • Must have proficiency with Computer knowledge such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, CMMS/SAP.

Experience

Minimum 3-4 years' experience of working in electrical maintenance section of CCPP/Utility/Powerhouse in capacity of Assistant Manager Electrical. Age should be under 35.

Administrative

Area of Responsibilities

  • Assists Manager (Electrical) in administering electrical maintenance section in accordance with instructions and directives of the management, rules and regulations in practice.
  • Assists Manager (Electrical) in preparation of maintenance plan, HR development and sectional objectives setting.
  • Maintains punctuality, discipline and confidence among the team members and ensure observance of the management rules.
  • Maintain and enforce safety program for electrical maintenance section; ensure implementation of standards for maximum safety of subordinates and fellows.

Safety:

  • Comply all safety practices as per company directives, CHSEQ policy and procedures, HSE G&T procedures, PSM and audits (PSLA)
  • Maintain and enforce safety program for Electrical maintenance section; ensure implementation of standards for maximum safety of subordinates and fellows.
  • Conducting regular inspections and surveys of the plant equipment during maintenance and operational time to ensure proper risk analysis, quality of work, timeline control, operational and maintenance ease, improved housekeeping, equipment and workmen safety and maintenance cost reduction.
  • Complying with all safety norms and regulations set by the company.
  • Participate in designated Safety Committee Meetings (B Level, D-Level Committee Meetings) as per frequency mentioned in KE-SP-004 SOP

Functional

  • Maintain and enforce safety program for electrical maintenance section; ensure implementation of standards for maximum safety of subordinates and fellows.
  • Organize and control all electrical maintenance activities (planned and unplanned) to meet performance targets, ensure maximum availability and reliability of equipment's.
  • Provide engineering expertise in RCA, troubleshooting and resolution of persistent problems. Avoid reworks and give recommendations for improvement.
  • Extend support, guidance and training to subordinates for technical and administrative development and in achieving their annual objectives.
  • Communicates regularly with all team members, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two-way communication and higher confidence and trust level.
  • Promote constant motivation among staff to strive for an efficient and effective administration. Enhance subordinates’ well-being and capability through training and opportunities for development.
  • Ensure that all maintenance tasks are being done as per OEM recommendations, site conditions and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Leading a team of subordinates and delegating work to them and ensuring timely completion of the same as per defined objectives.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities are appropriately carried out with quality, real spirit of work permit system and other standards of the plant. Shall strive for continuous improvement of the same.
  • Conducting regular inspections and surveys of the plant equipment's during maintenance and operational time to ensure proper risk analysis, quality of work, timeline control, operational and maintenance ease improved housekeeping, equipment and workmen safety and maintenance cost reduction.
  • Keep record of all maintenance and service activities in readily presentable format.
  • Complying with all safety norms and regulations set by the company.
  • Keeping record of all day-to-day maintenance and service activities undertaken in his section. Prepare detailed reports for major equipment's failure & maintenance.
