Job Purpose
To assist in the running the manufacturing operation for the plant. This role includes accountability for all manufacturing areas including engineering, both planned and preventative, utilities and facilities and palletisation areas of the factory. The AM Ops must ensure that all manufactured products are of high quality and that the site conforms to the required levels of hygiene and safety standards.

Job Purpose
To assist in the running the manufacturing operation for the plant. The AM Ops must ensure that all manufactured products are of high quality and that the site conforms to the required levels of hygiene and safety standards.
What Will Your Main Responsibilities Be
- To successfully manage a high volume, flexible manufacturing operation on a day to day basiS
- Proactively assist the manufacturing team,.
- Drive continuous improvement and best practice approaches by identifying new safety techniques, quality initiatives and cost saving and development opportunities to improve factory performance
- To continually improve manufacturing processes yields and performance through the development of people, systems and the effective utilisation of equipment.
- Understand and react to the wider needs of the business versus those of the Plant.
- Monitor and measure results of initiatives, fine tuning or taking corrective action as necessary.
- To ensure that safety and quality are a key element of the manufacturing culture.
- Build and develop relationships at all levels across the manufacturing function in order to spark ideas for continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with Unilever standards, procedures and legal requirements.
- Responsibility for ensuring engineering standards are delivered and maintained
- To ensure the plant and equipment is implemented and maintained in accordance with Engineering standards, local and statutory legislation, ISO systems and Health & Safety legislation.
- Responsible for creating and driving performance culture on the shop floor
Education & Work Experience:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 3-5 years’ experience is required within relevant Make Roles
- Excellent communication skills and team working ability at all levels.
- Relevant experience in a managerial role in a high volume manufacturing or similar environment (FMCG).
- Effective interpersonal skills and organisational awareness
- Experience in delivering a highly efficient production operation to the required levels of quality, hygiene and safety. Experience of a strong unionized environment.
- Experience of leading through a significant period of change.
- Comfortable working cross functionally and across the supply chain department
