Purpose

The position is currently managing major projects which includes KKI Grid Station, KKI Transmission line, KKI Interconnection, Dhabeji Grid Station, Dhabeji Transmission Line & Dhabeji Interconnection project – all these projects are critical for evacuating power from national grid. These project values approx. PKR 50 Billion. Further, transmission BU investment plan of c. PKR 236 Bn has been approved by NEPRA for FY 24 – FY 30 which requires completion of several new transmission projects as per their timelines.

Education & Relevant Experience

Member of Professional Accounting Body (ICAP/ACCA/ICMA etc.)

3-5 years Post Qualification Experience for ICAP and 6-8 years for rest of the qualifications

Areas of Responsibility

1 Transmission Project Controlling

Project Controlling will be required on PID existing and upcoming projects. Major projects include:

• Following are the projects anticipated to be start in FY 24
• 220 kV Landhi Grid Station
• 220 kV Landhi Transmission Line
• 132kV Site 2 Grid Station
• 132kV Site 2 Transmission Line
• 132kV K-Central Grid Station
• 132kV K-Central Transmission Line
• 220kV Surjani to Renewable Plants GOS Interconnection Project
  
  

In order to perform project controlling, following responsibilities are required to be performed:

• For new and upcoming projects prepare and analyze the project feasibility with technical team w.r.t previous lesson learned and new requirement in transmission system.
• For project under execution phase, monitor project commercial activities such as compliance of contract and its schedule during execution.
• Coordinate with HOD PID and his team for project activities reviews and cost overruns.
• Ensure the accuracy and effective time management while processing payments to contractors.
• Ensure the CAPEX is aligned with project activities. Monitor the monthly payments and balance contract.
• Liaison with PID team to ensure timely submission of leftover and spare material. Ensure timely capitalization of completed projects.
• Closely coordinate with Contractors (commercial) and Consultant to find the dispute resolutions.
• Correspondence with Contractors through letters on key commercial matters.
• Timely capitalization of completed projects.
  
  

2 Procurement Controls

• Review bid documents, tender documents, contract schedule (draft), commercial term (main draft agreement and conditions) with procurement and PID before tender process.
• After tendering conduct bid evaluation, commercial analysis of each material and service component.
• Assist line manager in contract negotiation meetings with supply chain and provide inputs to negotiate favorable terms.
• Provide the visibility to management with Techno-Commercial Scorecard.
• Review and analyze contract terms & condition, BOQs and other schedule before contract signing with procurement and technical team.
  
  

3 Business Plan, Budgeting, Controlling and Reporting

• Review the annual budget related to Projects with subsequent controlling and reporting.
• Analyze complex financial information for management decision support.
• Review the actual spending against targeted forecast and analyze the Gaps.
• Liaison with Contractors on Payment and shipment schedule in order to monthly revisit budgeted forecasts.
• Evaluation of proposed new projects and corroborate the loading with existing capacity of surrounding grids and TLs.
• Preparation of business case and financial analysis for proposed new projects.
  
  

5 People Management

• Lead and train the team members according to their roles through positive feedback and continuous engagement.
• Identify training needs of self and team members and attend the same to enhance performance
• Provide continuous on job training to sub-ordinates and build a communicative workplace where each team member will be providing equal growth opportunities and will also boost the morale.
