Title And Summary

Director Business Development, Public Sector

Mastercard is looking for a Director Business Development, Public Sector in Pakistan, who will lead and accelerate our growth in Government and Public Sector, identifying and developing new and unique opportunities involving multi-partner frameworks and digitizing new payments flows. The ideal candidate is passionate about innovation in payments, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset.

Working closely with the Country Manager Pakistan & Afghanistan and Regional Public Sector teams, the Cluster Lead for Public Sector plays a key role in planning and executing key initiatives in Pakistan and Afghanistan, closely working with key stakeholders in public sector, our issuing banks, acquiring partners and locally relevant merchants to convert opportunities into revenue generating streams and help grow market share, market acceptance, the number of customer touchpoints across all government and public sector entities.

Role

  • Sets the engagement and sales strategy for Public Sector including identifying opportunities and developing a robust engagement and sales plan
  • Participate actively, and lead if needed, in the design of strategic and commercial initiatives for the cluster, focusing on creating sustainable, scalable and repeatable business models.
  • Develops the sales pipeline, bringing opportunities to life in tandem with product / market development, account management and regional/global Public Sector teams
  • Enhances ongoing business development relationships through active engagements with key stakeholders (e.g., government, regulators, agencies / authorities / administrations and industry bodies)
  • Orchestrates and leads the go-to-market with cross-functional teams for key initiatives in country, i.e. transit, agri, MSME and MPGS.
  • On a regular basis, provides demand analysis for existing and future Mastercard solutions to be provided to the Public Sector Center of Excellence
  • Plays a lead role in industry conversations with key decisions makers for new or emerging products and solutions

  • Solid understanding of the payment ecosystem and digital economy infrastructure
  • Proven business development mindset to drive and build momentum and deliver results
  • Well-connected with balanced and conducive relationships in Pakistan’s public sector
