ENGINEER, PROTECTION (Lahore, Pakistan)

Job Summary:

We’re seeking a skilled Protection Engineer to effectively implement and execute protection engineering design for Transmission and Distribution (T&D) projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards, while collaborating closely with Designers and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality, reliable protection solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design Control, Protection, Metering, and Monitoring systems in compliance with project quality, safety, and standards.
• Perform detailed design, calculations, ensuring alignment with project specifications and requirements.
• Identify and resolve design issues, adhering to established guidelines and maintaining accurate documentation.
• Support senior team members and ensure designs meet Quality Management System (QMS) and regulatory requirements.

Key Skills:

• Expertise in designing control, protection, metering, and monitoring systems for MV to EHV substations from base design to IFC stages.
• Skilled in control, protection metering/monitoring schemes, CT/PT and relay setting calculations for MV to EHV substations.
• Strong knowledge of Substation Automation Systems (SAS), IED relays, IEC 61850, SCADA, and communication interfaces.
• Familiar with IEC, IEEE, BS, SASO, SEC, and regional standards.
• Proficient in ETAP, DIGSI, PCM600, MICOM AGILE, Envista, SEL, Excel.
• Adaptable and quick to learn new systems and challenges.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution, with relevant professional certifications or accreditations.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in control and protection system design / analysis for Transmission and distribution projects.
