You‘ll make a difference by
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and testing of SAS components including Bay Control Units (BCUs), IEDs, RTUs, HMI, and SCADA interfaces.
- Perform field signal testing, GOOSE messaging checks, and inter-device communication validation over IEC 61850.
- Verify correct operation of interlocking logics, command signals, and real-time monitoring via HMI/SCC.
- Troubleshoot communication issues on Ethernet, serial, and fiber-optic networks (managed switches, routers).
- Support system integration with control centers via IEC-101/104, Modbus, DNP3 protocols.
- Prepare and maintain field documentation including signal lists, test reports, and configuration backups.
- Coordinate with system engineers, protection teams, and client representatives during shutdowns and commissioning.
- Ensure site compliance with electrical safety practices and quality control standards.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
- At least 1 year of field experience in substation automation systems.
- Basic hands-on experience with equipment from vendors such as Siemens, ABB, Schneider, or GE.
- Familiarity with IEC 61850 (GOOSE, MMS, SCL files) and SCADA architectures.
- Ability to work with configuration tools such as DIGSI, IET600, PCM600, or equivalent.
- Sound understanding of single-line diagrams, logic diagrams, and communication architectures.
- Willingness to travel and work at various substations, including remote areas and extended durations.
- 2 to 3 days of mobile working per week as a global standard.
