Sapphire Technologies is actively seeking a Senior WordPress Developer to join our growing team. We’re looking for a technically skilled professional who can lead custom WordPress development, build and modify themes and plugins, and resolve both front-end and back-end issues with efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins.
- Customize existing themes to match client requirements.
- Troubleshoot and debug technical issues across front-end and back-end.
- Optimize website performance (caching, minification, image compression, database management).
- Ensure mobile responsiveness and cross-browser compatibility.
- Build and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins.
- Implement security measures (SSL setup, malware protection, general site hardening).
- Provide occasional remote support outside of regular business hours when required.
- 3+ years of hands-on WordPress development experience.
- Strong command of PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Experience developing custom post types, taxonomies, and using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF).
- Familiarity with popular themes such as Astra, Divi, or similar.
- Proven ability to identify and resolve plugin conflicts, theme bugs, and performance issues.
- Experience with caching tools like WP Rocket or W3 Total Cache, lazy loading, and code minification.
- Knowledge of Git for version control.
- Understanding of SEO principles and responsive design.
