Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies, aligning with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Oversee financial reporting, including monthly management accounts, annual budgets, and forecasts. Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Team Management: Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Accounting and Tax: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Operations and Controls: Oversee financial operations, develop all missing SOPs, and oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations and treasury management. Implement and maintain effective financial controls
  • Funding and Investor Relations: Support fundraising efforts, develop investor reports / financial models as needed.
  • Cross-Border Payments and Fintech: Provide expertise on cross-border payments, fintech regulations, and industry trends.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant regulations, including EMI, branchless banking, and other fintech-related regulations.
  • Financial Analysis and AI Tools: Implement and leverage advanced financial analysis tools, AI, and machine learning to drive predictive analytics, data extraction, and financial modeling.
  • Best practices: identify gaps and implement industry best practices for daily tasks including reconciliations and play a pivotal role streamlining current operations

Requirements

  • Professional Qualifications: Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), ACCA or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum 10+ years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, in fintech, payments, or a related industry.
  • Cross-Border Payments and Fintech: Proven experience in cross-border payments, fintech regulations, and industry trends.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Strong understanding of relevant regulations, including EMI, branchless banking, and other fintech-related regulations.
  • Financial Analysis and AI Tools: Experience with advanced financial analysis tools, AI, and machine learning.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.

Good To Have

  • MBA or Master's Degree: A postgraduate degree in finance, business, or a related field.
  • Certifications: Certifications like CFA, FRM, or CMA.
  • Experience with Financial Planning and Analysis Tools: Experience with tools like Anaplan, Adaptive Insights, or similar.
