Laboratory Technician

Timely reporting & Trouble Shooting

• To coordinate with Shift Incharge/Technical Supervisor to ensure timely reporting of lab test results and resolve any technical issue well in time.
• To timely report any incident in the department to the Shift Incharge & ensure its proper documentation as required.

Assert Maintenance and Biosafety & Inventory Management

• To ensure proper maintenance of equipments.
• To monitor department environment while ensuring cleanliness in the department.
• To disinfect bench surfaces also counting bacterial load on bench surfaces and in air.
• To safeguard storage area within lab and in store for placement and storage of chemicals, kits, reagents etc as per manufacturer’s instructions.
• To maintain laboratory temperature and humidity within the range.
• To ensure quality of kits, instruments, sample and other accessories used for testing.
• To monitor & maintain inventory system.
• Promotes environment health & safety condition and Implement safety rules and regulation.
• Coordination with departmental supervisors/staff and Lab biosafety Committee for communicating safety concerns and issues.
• Participate in various biosafety trainings, internally and externally on regular basis.
• Develop and enhance awareness for Infection Control like; Needle Stick injury (NSI), Hepatitis B vaccination and exposure to body fluids. 
• Provide knowledge regarding introduction and use of equipment in the area in relation to IC hazards, care and maintenance, decontamination and storage.

• To work in team with spirit of great coordination.
• To communicate with other team members through modern mediums of communication as and when required.
• To perform day to day duties or any other responsibility assigned by HOD.
• All types of authorized testing.
• To carry out the tests included in all programs initiated by the lab itself or whichever the lab registers to including ILC and PT.
• Responsible to conduct/process samples under the Lab guidelines.
• To ensure execution of system development, implementation and to maintain documentation of ISO.
• To complete required training within specified timeframe.
• To stay knowledgeable in procedures and methods performed.
• To initiate self-training, through reading current literature, technical papers, publishing technical papers.
• To read and comply with standards, regulations, policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• To ensure that all tests are performed with calibrated equipment, using a standard test method, under the required environmental conditions and by qualified staff members who are able to supervise and to perform on their own.
• Responsible for completion of all tasks relating to the quality assurance techniques planned by Lab authorities.
• Responsible for completion and safe handling of documents and records relating to Quality Assurance activities.
• Responsible for Cooperation and coordination with MR to ensure timely execution and completion of these activities as well as proper handling of documentation.
• Responsible to maintain the quality of laboratory services in compliance with the CL procedure for quality assurance & quality control.
