Talent Trellis is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in writing technical content and proposals, with a focus on IT, cybersecurity, telecom, and/or construction and facility management. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality, compliant, and persuasive proposals for a variety of government and commercial clients. The ideal candidate will be able to take complex technical concepts and communicate them clearly to executive audiences and the government SEB, while ensuring alignment with RFP requirements and industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Write, edit, and revise proposals for IT, cybersecurity, telecom, and/or construction/facility management projects, ensuring clarity, consistency, and compliance with client and RFP requirements, as well as industry standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), project managers, and technical teams to gather information and develop content that accurately reflects the organizations capabilities, technical approaches, and value propositions.
• Develop and structure proposals with a focus on technical accuracy and compelling messaging, addressing the needs and concerns of both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Create and edit complex technical documents, including technical approaches, system designs, security frameworks, network infrastructure, and project management strategies.
• Develop visuals (such as diagrams, flowcharts, and infographics) to support technical content and improve readability.
• Review and revise proposals to ensure compliance with RFPs, PWSs or SOWs, and other solicitation requirements.
• Manage proposal timelines, ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Assist with post-submission activities, including debriefs, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Continuously improve writing processes and knowledge database, incorporating feedback and ensuring best practices in technical writing and proposal development.
  
  
  

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field.
• Proven experience (3+ years) as a Technical Writer or Proposal Writer, particularly in IT, cybersecurity, telecom, and/or construction/facility management.
• Strong understanding of technical content, including IT systems, cybersecurity protocols, telecom infrastructure, and construction management practices.
• Experience with writing proposals for government contracts, commercial clients, or both, with a strong knowledge of the proposal lifecycle and compliance processes (e.g., RFPs, SOWs, etc.).
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with an ability to present complex technical information in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), proposal management tools, and graphic design software (e.g., Visio, Adobe Creative Suite) for creating technical diagrams and visuals.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple proposals simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with various teams and stakeholders.
  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with specific technologies or certifications in IT, cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CompTIA Security+), telecom, or construction/facility management.
• Knowledge of government contracting, including FAR and DFARS regulations.
• Familiarity with proposal software tools (e.g., Deltek, Proposal360, MS 365).
• Experience in developing or managing proposal content in a fast-paced, deadline-driven and product focused environment.
