The Team Leader (Pakistan) will join the Central Asia Projects team at Barnabas Aid and play a vital role in supporting the Projects Manager in all aspects of project lifecycle management. Barnabas Aid has an established presence in Pakistan with a trusted team and a strong network of church-based partners.



About the Role



As Team Leader – Projects (Pakistan), you will be entrusted with leading Barnabas Aid’s local projects team to serve persecuted and vulnerable Christians across Pakistan. You will bring spiritual depth, leadership maturity, and professional skill to a role that supports the delivery of life-changing humanitarian and development projects in one of the most challenging and significant contexts for the global Church today. The Team Leader will serve as the senior in-country representative for projects, providing daily leadership, coordination, and oversight in close partnership with the international Projects Manager.

  • Spiritual and Team Leadership
  • Provide Christ-centred, servant-hearted leadership to the Pakistan projects team, nurturing unity, resilience, and a shared sense of mission.
  • Uphold prayer, integrity, and compassion as the foundation of team culture.
  • Offer pastoral support and professional development to team members.


  • Project Leadership & Management
  • Oversee the delivery of key development projects in Pakistan, with a strong focus on the strategic implementation of the Model Village initiative for Christian communities working in brick kilns.
  • Manage and provide direction to two Project Coordinators, ensuring their activities align with project objectives.
  • Develop and manage project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with local partners, contractors, and community leaders to ensure smooth and timely project delivery.
  • Review and adjust project strategies as necessary to ensure objectives are met and the needs of the communities are addressed.


  • Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
  • Ensure consistent and accurate monitoring, reporting, and record-keeping for all activities.
  • Conduct or coordinate site visits and follow-up evaluations with implementing partners.
  • Submit structured narrative and financial reports to the international Projects Manager in accordance with internal deadlines.
  • Partner Engagement & Representation
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Barnabas Aid and local Christian partners, churches, and project implementers.
  • Represent Barnabas Aid with credibility and sensitivity at partner forums, church events, and inter-agency meetings.
  • Support and encourage local church-based leaders involved in project implementation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Communicate regularly with project partners and regional contacts, offering administrative support and coordination as needed.
  • Represent Barnabas Aid professionally in interactions with Christian ministries, churches, and NGOs.
  • Provide logistical and planning support for regional meetings and international visits.


Qualifications



  • A committed, practising Christian, with a strong personal faith and active church involvement.
  • A deep sense of calling to serve the persecuted Church and a heart for holistic Christian ministry.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in project leadership, NGO work, or development programmes—preferably with Christian organisations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams in culturally sensitive, challenging environments.
  • Fluent in both English and Urdu, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Skilled in planning, monitoring & evaluation, budgeting, and narrative/financial reporting.
  • Sound understanding of the context and needs of Christian communities in Pakistan.



Required Skills



  • Familiarity with safeguarding, risk management, and compliance within the Christian aid sector.
  • Previous engagement with international teams and donors.
  • Knowledge of regional languages (e.g., Punjabi, Pashto) is a plus.
  • Experience navigating complex religious, political, and cultural dynamics.
