The Lead Operational EHS Services and Projects Specialist is responsible for leading and executing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs and initiatives across operations and projects to ensure compliance, risk mitigation, and the promotion of a strong safety culture. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, project management, and field services to support EHS performance throughout the lifecycle of projects, from planning through execution and closure.

The Lead Operational EHS Services and Projects Specialist is responsible for leading and executing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs and initiatives across operations and projects to ensure compliance, risk mitigation, and the promotion of a strong safety culture. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, project management, and field services to support EHS performance throughout the lifecycle of projects, from planning through execution and closure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of EHS strategies and programs across operational sites and project locations.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and corporate EHS regulations, standards, and policies.
- Support project planning and execution with proactive EHS risk assessments and hazard mitigation strategies
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for operational EHS issues and provide technical guidance to teams
- Collaborate with engineering and operations to integrate EHS into project design and construction phases
- Drive incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action implementation.
- Monitor and analyze EHS performance metrics to identify trends and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Conduct site audits, inspections, and EHS reviews, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.
- Deliver EHS training and awareness programs to employees and contractors.
- Manage and contribute to EHS projects, including sustainability and occupational health initiatives.
- Engage with stakeholders to promote a proactive safety culture and environmental stewardship.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of EHS experience in industrial, manufacturing, or project-based environments.
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001, OSHA, EU Directives).
- Proven experience in supporting or managing EHS aspects of capital or field service projects.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to influence and collaborate with diverse teams across geographies and functions.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
- Professional EHS certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, CSP, CIH) preferred.
