We are looking for a knowledgeable and detail-driven Low Voltage Estimator with expertise in Division 27 (Communications) and Division 28 (Electronic Safety and Security) systems. This role involves preparing accurate cost estimates and take-offs for low voltage cabling, infrastructure, and related systems in commercial, institutional, and industrial construction projects across the U.S.

The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in interpreting construction documents and specifications related to voice/data networks, fiber optics, access control, CCTV, and fire alarm systems, ensuring all estimates are compliant, competitive, and technically sound.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Voice, data, and fiber optic cabling
  • Cable trays, conduits, terminations, and patch panels
  • CCTV systems, access control, intercoms, and fire alarm systems
  • Develop project-specific estimates and pricing models based on system requirements, labor productivity, vendor quotes, and industry standards
  • Collaborate with project managers, system designers, and vendors to ensure alignment on scope and costing
  • Prepare and submit RFI (Requests for Information) where drawings or specs are incomplete or unclear
  • Review vendor and subcontractor proposals for accuracy and scope compliance
  • Stay up to date with NEC, NFPA, and local building codes related to low voltage systems
  • Assist in value engineering and project budgeting efforts
  • Maintain organized documentation of estimates, assumptions, and correspondence

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience estimating low voltage cabling and systems, specifically within Division 27 and Division 28
  • Strong knowledge of low voltage system standards and installation methods (TIA/EIA, BICSI, NEC)
  • Experience with estimating and take-off software such as Accubid, Esticom, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or Excel-based tools
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed MEP and system drawings
  • Familiarity with structured cabling, security system components, and fire/life safety codes
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management is preferred.
  • BICSI or equivalent low voltage certifications a plus

Working Conditions:

  • Remote work setup with availability during U.S. time zones.
