You will develop and implement accounting practices and procedures. You will provide and interpret data from accounting records and coordinate accounting services and integrate them with operating needs. In this role, you will oversee the management of such processes as fixed assets, leases, intercompany cross charges, new accounting rules, restructuring programs, and accounting for joint ventures, among others. This role may also include people management responsibilities.

How You Will Contribute

You will:

• Manage elements of the monthly accounting close process including ensuring accurate and timely U.S. GAAP/local GAAP reporting and the timeliness and integrity of local financial reports, balance sheet reconciliations and KPIs. You will also provide insights into balance sheet movements and cash flow and support implementation of process change projects
• Ensure a strong controls and compliance environment in your area of scope and ensure full compliance with our AER policies
• Coordinate accounting services and integrate them with operating needs. You will also provide and interpret data from accounting records as needed
• Lead projects to drive for harmonization, efficiencies and improvements to ways of working on AER processes and systems such as SAP, SLAN and FIT/HFM reporting tools and build a mindset of continuous improvement within the team. You will also lead implementation efforts on new accounting guidance
• Build a high-performing Accounting and External Reporting (AER) team (Mondelēz International employees and Mondelēz International Business Services business partner). Depending on the nature of the role, your job may involve recruiting and developing talent across AER and to drive our AER talent agenda globally

• TECHNICAL EXPERTISE in accounting and external reporting including understanding of U.S. GAAP, IFRS or local GAAP, close processes and financial reporting systems. Expertise in policy, controls and compliance design including SOX reporting. General knowledge of tax laws and indirect and direct tax
• BUSINESS ACUMEN and an understanding of our business and finance beyond accounting and external reporting scope

More About This Role

What you need to know about this position:

• Lead consolidation and submission of all monthly / quarterly and yearly regional / global controlling reporting deliverables at MENAP level working closely with BU AER lead, country AER lead, AMEA COE and AMEA controlling.
• Lead close governance process – BU flash, one off reporting, MEC activity tracking, tracking key KPI’s etc
• Support BU AER lead in ensuring a robust controlling and compliance framework, ensure proper and timely development and updates of internal accounting and controlling policies and procedures, ensure their compliance to business requirements, local legislation, US GAAP and internal MDLZ standards. Ensure that Corporate Governance is in place.
• Provide extensive support in minority JVs reviews - Performance & financial position analysis, other reviews (forecast reviews, dividend, capex appraisals, currency, capital structure related issues
• Responsible for BU cash flow analysis - Monthly/Quarterly actuals, Forecasts, work with BU FD/ BU AER lead and stakeholder across MENAP for in year delivery of cash flow target
• Lead Liquidity assessments - Devising strategies for countries with potential liquidity risk
• Supporting BU AER lead in resolving all urgent, critical and ad-hoc business and accounting matters that require inputs/actions from BU AER.
• Responsible for assessment of AR's from AER perspective (Factoring, Recaps, asset purchases, asset disposals, Coman agreements etc.)
• Support / lead various commercial, strategic and process improvement projects at MENAP/AMEA level.
• Drive harmonization of simplification of processes across MENAP controlling to create a strong controlling governance and reporting structure.
• Dealing with Corporate, Regional and BU’s senior leadership in resolving key business issues related to liquidity, working capital and capital structure.
  
  
  

Education / Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business (Finance or Economics)

Job specific requirements:

3-4 years of experience Accounting and external reporting preferably in international business environment, good knowledge of VAT and direct tax accounting (Preferred: Professional degree in Finance, Accounting.
