Markets Operations Senior Analyst

The Markets Operations Senior Analyst (AVP) is an intermediate level position responsible for handling transactions originating from trading desks in coordination with the in country Operations teams. The overall objective of this role is to facilitate the confirmation, settlement and investigation of Foreign Exchange, Money Markets, Securities and Derivatives transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Processing and resolving problems which require an evaluation of basic Foreign Exchange, Money Market, Securities and Derivatives processing procedures and industry standards
• Ensure strict compliance with legal, regulatory policies, bank policies, procedures, accounting and reporting requirements
• Offer solutions for assigned Foreign Exchange, Money Market, Securities and Derivatives processing areas. Participate in system implementation projects as well as system enhancement initiatives
• Work on all exception items in NOSTRO accounts, ensure that they are promptly investigated and that timely follow-ups are done with the defaulting parties. Work on monthly/quarterly proofing of General Ledger accounts
• Be well conversant with departmental procedures, Management Information Systems and reporting & governance activities
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency. Perform quality assurance reviews, procedural updates and report operational risk events in a timely manner
• Perform the Managers Control Assessment testing and submit the results in Citi risk system on monthly, quarterly, semiannual and annual basis
• Address queries and ensure quick and timely resolution of customer (internal and external) cases with respect to all products and processes handled by the unit
• Coordinate with central bank for market ops related activities
• Posses excellent knowledge on Foreign Exchange Manual
  
  

Qualifications:

• Relevant experience
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  
  

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
• Masters degree is preferred
