Project Overview
ITA is partnering with the British Council and other consortium and downstream partners to lead the service delivery of the project. The project will be implemented across multiple districts in the KP (including Merged Districts), and Punjab (particularly South Punjab), and selected urban districts, with a special focus on girls, children with disabilities, minorities, and other marginalized groups.
Khilo aur Barho (KaB) is an education service-delivery component of the Girls and Out of School Children: Action for Learning (GOAL) programme. Khilo aur Barho is a 3-year FCDO funded project which will contribute into GOAL programme that aims to build more inclusive provincial education systems delivering quality education in the Pakistan provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab. The target population is girls and marginalized children aged 5 to 16 years. The service-delivery component is expected to work with the long-term technical assistance component to deliver the overall GOAL objectives to support at least 100,000 girls and marginalized children to enroll and stay in school and at least an additional 150,000 girls supported to read by age 10.

Education: Master’s in Social Sciences/Economics/Education/Public Policy
Experience: 5-7 years of experience in planning, delivering, and managing large-scale educational projects in Pakistan, preferably in the development sector.
Experienced in overseeing projects from initiation to completion, with comprehensive knowledge of project life cycles. Proficient in full-cycle project management, procurement of services and materials, evaluation, reporting, team building, and financial management. Demonstrated expertise in managing large teams, quality assurance, stakeholder management, and leveraging technology for efficient project delivery.
Role Purpose
The Project Manager will oversee the successful delivery of project outputs, ensuring that all targets, metrics, and milestones are met within the specified timeline and budget. This role involves coordinating with British Council, managing resources effectively, and ensuring compliance with project management frameworks. Additionally, the Project Manager will focus on building the capacity of implementing partners, ensuring the sustainability and continuous improvement of project outcomes.
Job Description
Project Manager should have effective leadership, interpersonal and communication and knowledge of project management tools and reporting; knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation; credibility to build advise project teams in relation to delivery and diverse challenges. Knowledge of budgeting, coaching, supervision, staffing, project planning and improvement, performance management.

Job Description
- Provide direction and support to project team to adhere all quality standards during the project planning and implementation.
- Project Manager will be responsible for providing guidance to team and ensure compliance with the gender equality, inclusion, and safeguarding frameworks
- Successful implementation of the contract to the highest quality and as efficiently as possible, demonstrating year on year improvements.
- Ensure the smooth and optimum function of the project, using personal initiative to push the project into the future and optimize activities.
- Work planning and scheduling of the project activities, securing and contracting inputs from partners and short-term experts.
- Responsible for managing implementing partners’ delivery targets and monthly delivery plans.
- Monitoring the implementation of the British Council’s Project Management Framework and project management tools, to ensure contract compliance and efficient and successful delivery.
- Leading on internal planning and reporting including reviews and revisions of monthly and quarterly workplans, risk and issue management, impact reporting and ensuring regional management information requests are met.
- Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project
- Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards.
- Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality
- Prepare and review budgets of the project in consultation with operations and finance team
- Ensuring events management and logistical arrangements are delivered effectively and to British Council standards and expectations.
- Responsible for building the capacity of implementing partners and any other civil society organizations with whom it works so that they are well-positioned to continue working effectively for change once project ends.
- Training for all partner organizations on project design and implementation strategy, and in monitoring and technical reporting.
- Identifying and sharing lessons learnt, areas of innovation and best practice for continuous improvement of the project and wider internal teams.
- Ensure adherence to ITA’s and British Council’s code of conduct, policies, and procedures, as well as compliance with Safeguarding and PSEA policies.
