Purpose

Quality Assurance check for general inspection and post FAT inspection of various materials procured for KE Transmission and Distribution departments as per relevant Specifications and IECs. Dealing and Processing of under warranty claims from the aforementioned departments as per KE SOPs. Testing of materials for Chemical, Mechanical and Metalurgical analysis for different Items of KE. Inspection scope of work include inspections at vendor premises, to conduct FAT (factory acceptance testes) during which material is checked before delivery to KE locations. Materia testing, chemical and mechanical is also performed and supervised. Assisting DGM for departmental strategic Goals and Objectives directed by HOCS.

Education

BE Electrical/Electronis/Mechanical

Knowledge

• Engineering background
• Knowledge of distribution and Transmission items
• Evaluation of technical requirement for materials utilized in KE network.
• Application and understanding of KE specifications and SOPs.
• Up to date knowledge of worldwide standards bodies.
• Drafting and assessing technical requirements keeping in view trends of material inspection.
• Awareness of industrial processes and recent trends in manufacturing processes.
• Awareness of safety procedures
• Chemical and mechanical testing of materials

Area Of Responsibilities

On Time Inspection of Transmission, Distribution, TSW Production and Safety Material 30%

• Inspection of Material at vendor premises
• Inspection of material delivered at all KE stores and storage sites
• SAP data recording of all material parameters
• Acceptance/rejection advice to GM after inspection of all material
• Documentation of all necessary requirement stated in the PO against which material is delivered
• Ensuring material meets quality standards
  
  

Factory acceptance test against inspection call and vendor education 25 %

• Inspection of material at vendor works
• Acceptance/rejection of material
• Issuance of MAC/Rejection letters
• Vendor improvement for ensuring better quality material and practices
• Vendor education to ensure practices as per international standards
  
  

Coordination with Transformer and Switchgear Workshop 15%

• Inspection of transformers, trollies and switchgear of different rating
• RCA of faulty and under warranty transformers, trollies and switchgear
• Same day SAP posting for material availability to users
  
  

Coordination with Vendor for Under Warranty Rejection Items 20%

• Coordination with vendors for lifting of warranty claims of Transmission and distribution material.
• Coordination with vendors for under warranty dispute and issues.
• Coordination with vendors for repair /replacement of warranty claims of Transmission and distribution material.
• Vendor intimation of rejected material timely lifting.
• Vendor follow-up for lifting of pending material.
• Issuance of legal letters to vendor who have not lifted rejected material on time.

• Inhouse and external lab chemical composition and chemical purity testing material delivered at KE stores
