Senior Backend Engineer

Join our dynamic engineering team to build scalable backend systems powered by generative AI! We're seeking a senior-level software engineer (6 - 8 years' experience) to architect, build, and maintain backend services for web/mobile that integrate large language models and advanced AI workflows. This is a full-time, on-site role in our Lahore office (with occasional hybrid flexibility).

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable backend services and APIs. Implement microservices or server-based APIs to support web/mobile apps and AI workflows, ensuring high performance and reliability.

• Integrate and optimize large language models in production
• Build and refine RAG pipelines (graph-based & baseline) and agentic AI systems that ingest domain-specific data
• Fine-tune LLMs on specialized use cases and deploy them to automate business processes

• Design and model relational (SQL), NoSQL, vector, and graph databases
• Implement caching strategies, message queues, and data pipelines (ETL & streaming) to handle large datasets

• Work closely with frontend, mobile, product teams, and clients to define requirements and deliver features
• Communicate clearly (both written and verbal) and mentor junior developers
• Participate in architecture/design reviews and translate business problems into technical solutions
• Thrive both independently and as part of a cross-functional team; passion for continuous learning

• Containerize services with Docker and orchestrate with Kubernetes
• Leverage AWS (preferred) or GCP for hosting, scaling, and infrastructure-as-code
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and monitoring to ensure smooth, reliable releases

• Write clean, well-documented code with comprehensive unit/integration tests
• Optimize system performance, reliability, and security
• Conduct thorough code reviews and uphold best practices

• 6 - 8 years of backend software engineering experience
• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science (or equivalent)
• Hands-on experience with microservices, AI/ML in production, and cloud-native deployments
• Strong problem-solving mindset and appetite for learning the latest AI advancements
