Cogent Labs is looking for a Senior Generative AI Engineer for Its Lahore office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and lead the development of LLM-based applications using cutting-edge frameworks for agentic workflows and system coordination
  • Architect agentic and multi-agent systems to handle complex workflows
  • Drive prompt engineering strategies and own the quality of model outputs
  • Implement RAG pipelines, fine-tune LLMs, and manage inference at scale
  • Collaborate with product, data, and engineering teams to integrate AI into production systems
  • Mentor junior engineers, set engineering standards, and contribute to internal GenAI tooling
  • Stay ahead of the curve on advancements in LLMs, GenAI architectures, and multimodal models
  • Ensure models are secure, efficient, and compliant with responsible AI practices

Must-Haves

  • 3+ years of professional experience in AI/ML, Backend, Data Science, Data Engineering or a related field
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with:
    • LangChain, LangGraph, and LangSmith
    • Advanced Prompt engineering
    • Multi-agentic systems (CrewAI, A2A etc.)
    • Evaluation Framework(s)
    • Advance Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and LLM fine-tuning
    • Familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol)
  • Strong Python expertise, especially in async programming, and background job processing
  • You are familiar with cloud-based platforms and services, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Proven ability to solve complex, non-trivial problems using LLMs and generative AI
  • Solid understanding of transformer architecture and model optimization
  • Experience with observability for GenAI Applications
Nice to Have

  • Experience with multimodal models (e.g., vision + language)
  • Experience with hosting and scaling self-hosted models
  • Exposure to FastAPI, Django, or other API frameworks

Soft Skills

  • Strong communicator with leadership and mentoring skills
  • Collaborative and able to turn abstract ideas into real solutions
  • Proactive, self-driven, and thrives in fast-paced environments
  • Self-accountability and the ability to set a higher bar for the team
