This pivotal role drives the unification of data governance, reporting, and field digitalisation across Better Cotton’s global network. You’ll bridge upstream data capture with downstream data use, enabling evidence-based decision-making, improving operational efficiency, and strengthening trust across our partners and stakeholders.

  • Lead data governance frameworks – Ensure data integrity, comparability, and compliance across multiple systems and countries, embedding strong standards and clear accountability.
  • Oversee data architecture and integration – Build seamless data pipelines connecting field-level data capture with downstream systems such as MEL, Traceability, and Salesforce, ensuring information is reliable, timely, and actionable.
  • Drive field digitalisation – Lead the rollout and adoption of digital tools used by partners and producer units, ensuring usability, local ownership, and continuous improvement based on feedback and analytics.
  • Develop data-driven insights – Guide the creation of dashboards, visualisations, and analytics that support decision-making across programmes, operations, and impact reporting.
  • Champion innovation and efficiency – Pilot and scale new technologies such as mobile apps, GIS tools, and digital dashboards to streamline processes and strengthen the evidence base for sustainability.
  • Lead and inspire a global team – Manage, mentor, and grow two cross-regional teams (Data Services and Field Digitalisation), fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
  • Collaborate across the organisation – Partner with functions such as MEL, IT, Traceability, and Programme Delivery to ensure Better Cotton’s digital and data infrastructure supports every stage of the cotton value chain.
  • Ensure impact through continuous improvement – Establish and track KPIs related to data quality, tool adoption, and user satisfaction, using them to drive performance and inform future priorities.
