About This Opportunity
We are seeking a Site Engineer to train, coach, and supervise ASP teams, ensuring installations meet Ericsson and customer quality standards. The role involves overseeing site readiness, technical execution, documentation, and team KPIs. It requires strong knowledge of Transmission and Radio, strict EHS compliance, and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders for smooth project delivery.
What You Will Do
- Train, coach, and supervise ASP teams on installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Address training gaps identified during theoretical and practical sessions.
- Verify site readiness, survey data, and material delivery against SMR.
- Ensure EHS pre-work checks are completed and closed on time.
- Oversee installations as per Ericsson/customer standards, MOPs, and documentation.
- Support on-site commissioning and troubleshooting with back-office/NMS teams.
- Ensure timely uploads of data/photos for RSC Pre-PAT/FTR sessions.
- Follow up on QA/FTR snags and ensure all observations are cleared.
- Support dismantling, packing, and material handling.
- Manage customer site acceptance and provide ongoing support to ASP/OAN teams.
- Conduct quality audits, performance reviews, and ensure compliance with KPIs (Quality, Safety, Installation standards, session duration).
- Identify and report risks related to health & safety, workflow, and quality.
- Strong expertise in Ericsson Transmission (Mini-Link TN, 20P/20PB/6P/MMU/6600 series).
- Knowledge of MW antennas (0.3m–1.2m+), configurations (1+0, 2+0, 2+2, 4+0, XPIC, VLAN, E-Band), installation, and troubleshooting.
- Radio experience: RBS 6000 installation, script loading, alarm clearance, and fault finding (2G/3G/LTE).
- RF skills: installation, testing (VSWR/DTF), and fault finding.
- Civil and site survey knowledge (TSSR, site planning, telecom installation standards).
- Basic software commissioning experience.
- EHS certifications: Risk Assessment, Medical Fitness, Working at Height, First Aid, Firefighting, Defensive Driving (if applicable).
- Bachelor’s degree or Technical Trade Certification in Electrical/Electronics Engineering (NQF Level 4 or above).
- Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in GSM field installation, integration, and troubleshooting.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Creative, adaptable, people-driven, team-oriented, and proactive in service delivery and change management.
