About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Social Media Marketer to develop, manage, and distribute high-quality content for healthcare clients who operate their own private practices and clinics. This role blends creative writing, strategic content planning, and hands-on publishing across blogs, social media, and press channels. You will help educate patients, strengthen brand authority, and drive organic engagement for medical practices in specialties such as ophthalmology, dermatology, primary care, cardiology, and more.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Copywriting
· Write, edit, and proofread compelling, accurate, and patient-centered content including:
o Blog posts
o Social media posts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok optional)
o Press releases
o Website landing pages
o Email newsletters and patient education materials
· Ensure all content aligns with client branding, tone, and messaging.
· Transform clinical or technical medical information into engaging, easy-to-understand communication for patient audiences.
Social Media Management
· Plan, create, and schedule organic social media content across client accounts.
· Develop monthly content calendars for each healthcare client across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn.
· Use tools such as Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social, or Later to manage postings.
· Monitor engagement, respond to comments when appropriate, and identify optimization opportunities.
· Track social performance and adjust content strategy based on insights.
Content Strategy & Planning
· Collaborate with account managers, graphic designers, and clients to develop strategic content plans.
· Conduct research on industry trends, patient FAQs, new treatment options, and healthcare news relevant to clients’ specialties.
· Maintain an editorial calendar and ensure all content deadlines are met.
· Optimize content for SEO, readability, and patient engagement.
Press & Public Relations
· Draft and format healthcare-appropriate press releases for new services, awards, practice updates, and community involvement.
· Manage distribution via PR platforms or targeted media lists.
· Coordinate with local media contacts when necessary.
Compliance & Quality Control
· Ensure all content meets HIPAA guidelines and avoids sharing protected health information (PHI).
· Fact-check clinical content and verify medical accuracy.
· Follow healthcare marketing best practices and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
· 3+ years of experience in social media management, copywriting, content marketing, journalism, or communications. Must be familiar with using Canva and project management tools such as Monday.com, ClickUp etc.
· Experience working with medical practices, healthcare companies, digital healthcare marketing agencies or regulated industries preferred.
· Strong writing portfolio showcasing blogs, social posts, and long-form content.
· Ability to simplify medical and technical information for general audiences.
· Familiarity with SEO best practices and keyword optimization.
· Comfortable using content scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Later, Sprout Social).
· Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.
· Understanding of HIPAA considerations for marketing content.
