Zonal Manager - Seeds

The role is based out of Depalpur office

Zonal Manager - Potato Seeds, will be responsible for managing the complete potato seed production cycle within the assigned zone. This includes farmer selection, field production activities, certification compliance, quality assurance, and seed storage management. The role ensures timely procurement and availability of high-quality potato seeds as per business requirements.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard growers for potato seed production.
• Coordinate land preparation, seed issuance, sowing, and variety-specific agronomic practices.
• Ensure timely and efficient procurement of high-quality potato seeds per zonal demand.
• Conduct regular field visits for seed crop monitoring, nutrition management, irrigation scheduling, and pest/disease control.
• Oversee rogueing operations to maintain genetic purity of seed crops.
• Manage seed field certification processes with relevant authorities.
• Carry out periodic yield estimations for planning and forecasting.
• Supervise harvesting, grading, cleaning, drying, and post-harvest handling to minimize losses.
• Ensure seeds are stored under optimal conditions to maintain quality, viability, and dormancy.
• Maintain complete traceability records from sowing to storage.
• Work closely with senior management, providing regular updates, insights, and recommendations.
• Collaborate with commercial, quality, logistics, and storage teams to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
• Provide technical inputs and improvements to growers to enhance productivity and seed quality.
• Ensure adherence to agronomy best practices and statutory certification standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all field activities, audits, and seed production records.
• Apart from the above, employee is expected to perform other accountabilities, time to time assigned by the manager.
  
  

Qualifications

Agriculture Graduation is preferred or Master's degree in agriculture sciences i.e. PBG, Agronomy & Plant Science, Soil sciences and Horticulture.

Knowledge of potato growing area, farmers and crop management

Technical Know-how About Different Pest And Their Control.

Fluent in English and local languages

Having strong analytical skills and being result oriented
