Job Purpose

To drive the commercial agenda for assigned categories by devising effective channel strategies and translating them into powerful plans, leading the demand management process, ensuring resource sufficiency to deliver forecast & by smart revenue management.


Job Responsibilities

  • Translation of brand strategy into channel & shopper strategy, review and advice on policies - pricing, products mix, portfolio planning & channel plan for retail, modern trade, wholesales & direct accounts
  • Lead the category business planning cycle (SnOP) and ensure demand is accurately captured opportunities and risks are highlighted.
  • Drive effective promotional trade and channel strategies for the assigned categories that deliver long-term, sustainable, and profitable growth to the business.
  • Define portfolio and price architecture of the assigned category. Ensure current portfolio/pricing are in line with the agreement.
  • Manage Trade Spend effectively to ensure that the maximum return is derived from all Trade investments and activities are efficiently budgeted and monitored.
  • Work with the team to develop and deploy best in class BTL and trade activation plans tailored to the needs of each cluster. Ensure onwards communication and on time implementation of all agreed category activation plans.
  • Own the assigned category’s Activation Grid and ensure its impact is sufficiently captured in the demand planning process.
  • Ensure alignment of all stakeholders on the equity & activation plans.
  • Work with Perfect Store Team to develop, deploy align requirements for POS material, visibility requirements based on 5P Picture of Success; forecasting, stock management & allocation; execution directives and KPI’s, etc. supported by compelling fact-based Ready-to-sell (RTS) commercial propositions.
  • Be accountable for category forecasts, phasing and the Building Blocks of each category.
  • Ensure budgetary allocations by cluster are made activity based and are in sync with the demand reflected in the SnOP cycle.
  • Manage and periodically report all trade spend budgets and ensuring judicious investments. Ensure spends are in line with activities reflected in Category Activity Grid.
  • Identify and communicate to the wider organization including the sales team our category growth levers. The Category Channel Growth Strategy document will be used for this purpose.
  • Work with the team to articulate the portfolio/pricing architecture of assigned categories and channels.
  • Ensure development of compelling plans to maximize revenue per sales unit.t


Background Requirements

Education: Minimum Bachelors.

Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience.
