The Supply Chain Manager to oversee and optimize the procurement, logistics, and inventory management processes. The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for managing imports and local procurements of engineering products for various projects, ensuring timely delivery of materials, and maintaining compliance with government regulations and quality standards. The role requires a deep understanding of technical requirements in engineering service organizations, strong vendor management skills, and proficiency in negotiating contracts and managing banking channels.

The Supply Chain Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Finance, and Project Management, to understand project specifications, develop comprehensive procurement plans, and optimize supply chain processes to meet project deadlines and cost objectives. Additionally, the role involves developing and maintaining strategic alliances with suppliers and distributors to negotiate favorable rates and terms, as well as implementing efficient logistics strategies for material delivery across Pakistan

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement Management:
  • Manage imports and local procurements of engineering products for various projects.
  • Issue purchase orders and manage project execution requirements.
  • Understand Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and Bill of Materials (BOM) to facilitate accurate procurement.
  • Ensure all procurement activities, whether local or import, are recorded in the provided software.
  • Vendor and Supplier Management:
  • Develop and maintain a list of authorized suppliers and distributors.
  • Ensure at least 4-5 alternate suppliers for each item within Pakistan and internationally, approved by the CEO.
  • Oversee vendor management, negotiate credit terms contracts, and handle banking channels.
  • While negotiating the price of items with suppliers, check with the sales team/managers if they have a close professional relationship with the supplier to make a better deal and save on project costs.
  • Logistics and Delivery:
  • Design and implement efficient logistics strategies for material delivery across Pakistan, focusing on major cities and industrial hubs.
  • Verify on-time delivery of materials logically, ensuring delivery aligns with the actual schedule of tasks as recommended by the planning engineer and head of execution, to avoid unnecessary purchases and freezing of funds.
  • Ensure at least 4-5 alternate options of clearing and forwarding agents within Pakistan and abroad are available.
  • Financial Coordination:
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive procurement plan, including funds requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with the Finance Department for timely payment to suppliers and optimize cash flow.
  • Monitor funds requirements for procurement activities and provide updates to Finance.
  • Compliance and Technical Support:
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the procurement team as needed.
  • Familiarity with Letter of Credit (LC) issues and freight forwarding challenges for imports.
  • Team and Stakeholder Coordination:
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Coordinate closely with the Sales Team to understand project specifications and hand over requirements to the execution team.
  • Foster strong relationships with Heads of Departments (HODs) and key stakeholders to align supply chain strategies with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Inventory and Warehouse Management:
  • Implement strong control over inventory and warehouse management.
  • Ensure the warehouse/store is well organized with proper placement of inventories on shelves, tagged for easy identification.
  • Conduct audits to ensure accuracy of inventory records and alignment with actual consumption.
  • Ensure accurate reporting on the issuance of inventory, consumption, and balance to return from all sites, presenting this report to the CEO on a monthly basis.
  • Record and place scrap, unused, or out-of-order items separately, and share a report with the CEO.
  • Ensure any item established as out-of-order is not handed over to any staff without obtaining approval from the CEO.
  • Continuous Improvement and Policy Development:
  • Continuously optimize supply chain processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for supply chain management to ensure efficiency and compliance.
  • Set and achieve goals for the supply chain team, monitoring performance and suggesting improvements as needed.
  • Utilize team resources effectively, enhancing productivity and developing successors for seamless management in the manager's absence.
  • Make efforts to save revenue without compromising on quality.
  • Note that responsibilities and KPIs may be adjusted as needed to align with evolving organizational goals and policies.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs180,000.00 - Rs200,000.00 per month
