2D Game Artist

About The Role

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Game Artist to join one of our teams at Game District. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating high-quality 2D visuals for mobile games, including gameplay assets, UI, environments, characters, icons, and store creatives.

This role requires strong artistic fundamentals, conceptual thinking, and a solid understanding of mobile game art. The ideal candidate should be passionate about games, capable of maintaining a consistent art style, and able to transform game concepts into polished, production-ready assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Create high-quality gameplay assets, characters, environments, props, icons, and other production-ready art for mobile games
• Design visually appealing and user-friendly in-game UI, HUD, menus, and other interface elements
• Create engaging App Store and Google Play Store creatives, including icons, screenshots, and feature graphics
• Develop concepts and visual styles that align with the game's theme and target audience
• Ensure consistency in art style, quality, and visual language across all game assets
• Produce optimized assets that balance visual quality with mobile performance requirements
• Continuously improve existing assets based on gameplay needs and visual quality standards
• Research market trends, competitor games, and art styles to create appealing visuals that enhance player engagement
• Utilize AI tools effectively to accelerate workflows while maintaining originality and high artistic quality
  
  

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience as a Game Artist in the mobile games industry
• Strong portfolio showcasing gameplay assets, characters, environments, UI, and store creatives
• Strong understanding of composition, color theory, perspective, lighting, anatomy, and visual hierarchy
• Strong conceptual thinking with the ability to create original game-ready artwork
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and other relevant 2D game art tools
• Experience creating assets for different mobile game genres and art styles
• Good understanding of AI-assisted workflows and prompting techniques, with the ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity while maintaining originality and quality
• Good understanding of gameplay readability, player experience, and visual storytelling
• Passion for mobile games with awareness of current market trends and competitor products
