Key Responsibilities
- Identify, screen, and evaluate opportunities across refining, pipelines, logistics, storage, petrochemicals, renewables, power, low-carbon fuels, and related infrastructure sectors.
- Develop opportunity notes, investment theses, pre-feasibility studies, business plans, risk registers, and management recommendations.
- Prepare evaluation frameworks covering commercial, financial, regulatory, technical, legal, tax, funding, policy and stakeholder dimensions.
- Build and review financial models for greenfield, brownfield, acquisition, tariff, project finance, and strategic investment cases.
- Conduct scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, tariff modelling, unit economics, project return analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and funding structure evaluation.
- Evaluate models prepared by consultants, advisors, counterparties, or internal teams to ensure assumptions are robust and outputs are decision-grade.
- Support policy positions and regulatory submissions related to tariffs, pricing, infrastructure mandates, sector reforms, energy transition, taxation, duties, and project approvals.
- Monitor government policies, regulatory developments, macroeconomic conditions, market trends, and sector risks.
- Prepare briefing notes and consultation materials for engagement with regulators, ministries, shareholders, and other external stakeholders.
- Apply AI-enabled tools and analytics platforms responsibly to improve market research, policy scanning, financial analysis, dashboarding, benchmarking and report generation.
- Create reusable templates, databases, trackers, and dashboards for opportunity pipelines, regulatory issues, macro indicators, project economics, and management reporting.
- Promote disciplined, ethical, and secure use of AI, particularly where confidential business data is involved.
- Prepare Board/committee-level decks, management papers, executive summaries, investment memoranda, and decision notes.
- Coordinate with Marketing & Commercial, Finance, Legal, Technical, Operations, Procurement, Tax, HSE, and external consultants/advisors to progress strategic projects.
- Act as a structured problem solver, collaborator, and challenger who can identify gaps, test assumptions, and push workstreams toward closure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or related discipline from an HEC-recognized institution OR professional certifications such as CFA, CA, ACCA, FRM, PMP, or equivalent
- Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Public Policy, Energy Economics or related field will be preferred.
- Strong track record in strategy, energy, infrastructure, data analytics or policy will be preferred.
- Up to 8 years of relevant experience, preferably across corporate strategy, business development, investment evaluation, transaction advisory, project development, consulting, energy, infrastructure, renewables, corporate finance, policy analysis, or analytics.
- Candidates should demonstrate ability to independently own workstreams, coordinate stakeholders, prepare decision-ready analysis and drive assigned initiatives to closure.
- Experience in financial modelling, valuation, feasibility studies, business cases, investment memos, tariff analysis, lender/investor presentations, Board/committee papers, or executive decision papers will be strongly preferred.
- Candidates should be comfortable building, reviewing and challenging financial models, including assumptions, sensitivities, scenario outputs and investment recommendations.
- Strong executive presentation and storytelling skills using PowerPoint and/or AI-enabled presentation tools.
- Excellent business writing skills, including ability to prepare concise investment memoranda, management notes, policy briefs, executive summaries and decision papers.
- Advanced financial modelling capability, with ability to use AI-enabled analytical tools to improve research, scenario analysis, quality checks and productivity.
- Ability to prepare business cases, strategic recommendations, management papers and decision-ready analysis.
- Strong understanding of project development, project finance, valuation methodologies, tariff structures, energy economics and infrastructure business models.
- Responsible and practical use of AI-enabled tools for research, analysis, benchmarking, scenario planning and executive reporting.
- Experience with Power BI, Python, R, Tableau, Think-cell or similar analytics / presentation tools will be considered an advantage.
- High ownership, agility, stakeholder management, communication, and ability to work effectively in ambiguous and fast-evolving environments.
