About the Role:
Cedar Financial provides IT staffing services, placing skilled tech talent with client companies. We're hiring a Business Development Manager who can operate as an individual contributor initially — generating leads, cold calling, and closing new staffing clients independently — while also being ready to build and lead a BD/sales team as we scale. This is a hybrid role: hands-on hunter now, team leader soon.
Key Responsibilities:
Independently generate leads through cold calling, cold emailing, and LinkedIn outreach (hands-on, especially in the early stage)
Own the full sales cycle: prospecting → outreach → discovery calls → proposal/rate negotiation → closing
Pitch Cedar Financial's IT staffing services to hiring managers, HR, and procurement contacts
Build, manage, and grow a healthy sales pipeline in the CRM
As the team grows, hire, train, and lead a small team of BD reps/cold callers
Set targets, review team performance, and coach reps on outreach and closing techniques
Understand client hiring needs (roles, skill sets, urgency, rate expectations) and relay to the recruitment/delivery team
Track and report KPIs: calls made, leads generated, conversion rate, deals closed, team performance
Coordinate with recruitment/delivery team to ensure smooth handoff once a client signs
Build repeatable outreach playbooks, scripts, and SOPs for future team members
Stay updated on IT hiring market trends, in-demand skills, and competitor rates
Requirements:
5–8 years of B2B sales/business development experience; IT staffing or recruitment agency sales strongly preferred
1–2+ years of experience leading or mentoring a sales/BD team
Proven ability to independently generate and close new business — not just manage an existing pipeline or team
Strong cold calling and cold emailing skills, with a track record of results
Understanding of IT staffing models (contract, C2H, permanent) and basic tech role/skill terminology
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
Hands-on experience with CRM and prospecting tools:
CRM/ATS: Bullhorn, JobDiva, Ceipal, Salesforce, HubSpot
Lead Gen/Prospecting: Apollo.io, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Lusha
Outreach/Dialers: Outreach, Salesloft, Aircall, JustCall
Self-starter, comfortable working independently with minimal supervision early on
Bonus: experience selling to international markets (US/UK/Middle East)
