Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in accounting, with strong exposure to the preparation and completion of accounts.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing VAT returns, tax returns, and related compliance requirements.
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance and related accounting requirements.
  • Strong technical accounting and compliance knowledge.
  • Experience managing multiple accounting assignments within agreed deadlines.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and prioritise assignments based on deadlines and business requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to identify and escalate technical issues, missing information, and potential delays.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to maintain clear, accurate, and organised working papers and supporting documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams.
  • Ability to work effectively in an offshore technical environment.
  • Strong understanding of Work-in-Progress (WIP), billing, utilisation, and cash-flow considerations.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Practice Managers, Portfolio Managers, and accounting team members.
  • Commitment to meeting compliance, quality, productivity, and delivery targets.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage assigned jobs from commencement through to completion.
  • Prepare, review, and complete accounts, VAT returns, tax returns, payroll compliance, and related assignments accurately and within agreed deadlines.
  • Monitor job progress against deadlines and proactively address potential delays.
  • Liaise with the Practice Manager regarding workload, capacity, job status, and completion dates.
  • Provide regular and accurate progress updates to Portfolio Managers.
  • Escalate missing information, technical issues, or delays that may impact delivery timelines.
  • Ensure all work is completed accurately, efficiently, and within budget.
  • Maintain clear and organised working papers and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure chargeable work is completed promptly to facilitate timely invoicing.
  • Monitor and minimise aged Work-in-Progress (WIP).
  • Prioritise assignments based on workflow priorities established by the Practice Manager.
  • Identify delays that may impact billing or cash flow and escalate them appropriately.
  • Ensure completed assignments are submitted for review and billing without unnecessary delay.
  • Contribute to profitability through efficient delivery of assignments and effective utilisation of time.
  • Work closely with Portfolio Managers to understand job requirements, priorities, and delivery expectations.
  • Provide technical information and status updates to Portfolio Managers to support effective client communication.
  • Respond promptly to technical queries and information requests from Portfolio Managers.
  • Provide timely and accurate technical support to Portfolio Managers.
  • Collaborate with Junior Accountants, Trainee Accountants, and other team members to ensure efficient job completion.
  • Support the Practice Manager in achieving operational and service delivery objectives.
  • Deliver assigned work accurately and within agreed deadlines.
  • Maintain required technical quality and compliance standards.
  • Manage assigned workload efficiently and effectively and minimise aged WIP and support timely billing.
  • Contribute to the firm's cash flow through the prompt completion of chargeable work.
  • Meet agreed compliance, quality, productivity, utilisation, and delivery targets.
